When making a Vesper, using Lillet Banc, one can use a drop of Angostoura and a dash of Orange Bitters to recreate the original flavour of Kina Lillet. Or go the extra mile and get a bottle of Kina L'Avion d'Or.

Considering that Kina Lillet no longer exists, I kind of wish now in the movie, since it was set in 2006, the waiter had told Bond it was impossible.

I’m a huge cocktail drinker and I love martinis. But in the real modern world, most men are not into this drink. They tend to drink beer or whiskey. Personally all my guy friends don’t even drink any cocktails. It’s usually women who drink cocktails that I notice. But I still love martinis.

Well, that was fun but not terribly elegant! But, no one lost a limb- or a life, for that matter-so it’s all good. 🍸🍸🍸

Italian "Punt e Mes" is also a nice option to substitute the Kina Lillet. And of course, the Lillet Blanc.

So you said it was delicious but didn't say how it tasted like :) I don't think I could appreciate it anyway with the vodka and gin .

Ok this is for everybody. A meassure it means that it is 1 oz. so that is 3 oz of Gin and they put more than an oz there! That jigger its 2 oz or 1.5 oz which is too much. Why the hell is it so difficult for you to do it?! It's just 3 oz of Gordon's Gin, 1 oz of Vodka and 0.5 oz of Lillet!!!! :/ Why using the glass if you don't know exactly the meassures? In a drink the meassure is very important and it can change a drink completely if you put more of something!.. And David was correct about the thin slice. That one there is too big it should be less large and make a spiral for on top of the drink so the ois of the lemon comes out.

I disagree. A 'measure' is not an ounce - a measure can be an ounce, a pint, or a gallon - it doesn't matter, so long as you use the same measure for the entire recipe. If you use 3 gallons of Gordon's, 1 gallon of Vodka, and one half-gallon of Kina Lillet, you have made the (large) cocktail accurately. If you are saying we should have used something more precise than a drinking glass for the larger measure, that's a fair comment I suppose, but the point being illustrated is that it doesn't matter what you use for a 'measure' as long as you keep it consistent.

But if you use 6 oz of gin plus 2 of vodka and 1 of lillet in ONE glass/drink I think it's too much alcohol. I have done it like I said (3 oz of gin, 1 of vodka and 0.5 of lillet) in one glass and it almost fill my martini glass completely :O.. I agree that it sould be consistent (Y)

jedi666sith yeah, you’re wrong. A measure isn’t an ounce...it’s any measurement you want. You could use the word “parts” in the same way, saying “3 parts gin”, for example. The reason being you can adjust that measurement for any size glass, keeping the ratio the same.

So how did you measure the vesper with the jigger??? When you put 3 measures of gin was that 6 oz? or how much?
@jedi666sith
@jedi666sith 6 лет назад
I said that because if you're using more and pour everything in only one drink it could spill out the martini glass
