Before Alessandro took over I thought Gucci was tacky and old people gaudy ish. Even if I was rich I wouldn't have bought any of it. But Alessandro has really done something unique and creative with it. And he's brought youthfulness to the House. I love his creative process and idea's.
Lauren Bray the exact opposite of how I feel. He is the Virgil of Gucci! There is no longer the character of Gucci (where it was considered 70s with a bit of bohemian chic) which both Tom Ford and Frida brought our well. I am not sure where you got tacky or Gaudy. Your description is exactly what it is now. I am confused by your comment I am sorry!
Lauren, I would like to hear you further explain how you feel this is “unique and creative “. If your referring to the show’s itself, I can understand the reference but if it’s the clothing your talking about, I simply do not get it. What you see as “youthfulness” is rather oldy-moldy. I can literally smell the moth balls and dampness of the vintage shops across the world, each of them containing the very same previously designed clothes form the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s+ that are shown on the Gucci runway. I completely understand that this may be new to you and I respect that you love it but the clothes should not be put I to the category of unique and creative but rather in the category of appreciation of eras gone by. The rediscovery of vintage clothing worn as main stream fashion started in the 90’s when rich kids wanted to rebel and prove they were cooler than their counterparts.....and here we are in the year 2020 and it’s still happening to this day. Every design house creates things that are “old people gaudy” but you should understand what you are referring too..... Tom Ford lifted the House and created some of the most iconic pieces that will forever referred to as the Gucci Look and will always be coveted. It is because of these previous moments that allowed the house to continue as it does today.
Tom Ford made Gucci, sexy and refreshing... some of his best work; furthermore he brought Gucci from the brink of bankruptcy. Alessandro is an amazing designer, more of a style for Versace than Gucci. My opinion.
@@gabrielpaltridge5802 Exactly my point, that it does not feel like a Gucci. but on the bright side, the classic 1953 style loafer is still there, that will make me still cling on to Gucci. LOL This is a very special loafer for me, and I kow it sounds creepy but I first started to wear it when I was 24, a very happy and youthful time in my life lol.
So, you think Tom ford's and Friday's gucci was tacky and this new gucci is not? We have opposite concepts of the word tacky. I absolutely hate this new gucci, lacking class and style, full of excentric designs that seem so distant from the Italian elegance. Even the fabrics they use, my God, a suit made out of viscose and not wool, I feel like you pay for the name not the quality and craftsmanship.
His creativity rebuilt Gucci in my concept, I truly appreciate what he's doing on fashion industry. I don't miss a fashion show of him because it inspires me to try different outfits feeling confident.
Shelly Grayce Tom Ford rebuilt Gucci; literally and now Alessandro has brought it down. Don’t get me wrong he’s an absolutely amazing designer and creative but not the taste for Gucci. Just my opinion
I haven't always appreciated some of his designs its been a love hate, but I appreciate the man, the creative he is truly inspirational & talented & he seems to be a deep warm hearted man. Im glad he is obscure & offbeat i like the subcultures he has tapped into it keeps it interesting it will be sad to see him not designing i hope he stays as long as possible. I wish he would change direction though something new to catch everyones attention yet again.
I think what I love most about Alessandro’s direction, and “THIS” Gucci (since he came on board) is how absolutely inspiring it is. Not that it makes you “Go Gucci or Die” but it makes you look at what you have, or what’s in your price range and find new ways of experimenting with silhouette, patterns, colors and even decades. My wardrobe is about 95% vintage and I’ve definitely built some looks inspired by Alessandro’s creations. To an open artistic spirit, this Gucci is limitless, as well as timeless! And it screams that same message to anyone watching. You are limitless. Every collection he’s done has been such a show of creative genius rooted in authentic artistry. I’ve never paid such close attention to a fashion house in this way. I have some poppy kids mini dresses from the late 60s 70s (I’m rather petite) and gaudy funky antique jewelry, that I am searching to find some cutesy shoes and socks to pair with them for Spring. This Gucci is an attitude. A lifestyle even.
You are a genoius, and helped me recover my sense of fashion wich was so strange and peculiar that no one understend it. Sei l'orgoglio d'Italia. Mi piacerebbe incontrarti per strada. Con affetto, Francesca.
Alessandro, I wish the world could become a playground of great creativity and freedom...you, my friend, are living this dream and helping us feel brave, unique and wonderful. Thank you!..xxx
exactly my mindset! thank you to people/creators like me for giving me the confidence and happiness for wearing my prince charming's hats outside of my bedroom. this is a masterpiece.
i'm conflicted because a certain number of criminals look strange with all the tattoos yet i don't want to think they're beautiful but they do have some beauty. not advocating for doing crimes
I think what he said about and I quote "flaw makes you a little more special." hits home a lot, and that's what makes Alessandro special in our hearts.
Fashion needs to be fun above all; not take itself too seriously even though the money at stake is eye-watering. Alessandro has been the alchemist that has made that happen at Gucci for many years. Looking forward to seeing the next Gucci chapter, and Alessandro's next move. We are at the front-line of creative brilliance here.
omg. dobby needs to watch this and know that his principles is in the same way as this fashion icon. like, everyone is laughing at dobby when he experiment/explore and try new things for fashion but that's how fashion grows and created/ one day, my baby bub Treasure kim doyoung will be acknowledged as a fashionista.
