Awesome video! The dyson batteries suck and take forever to charge. I thought of this idea a couple weeks ago when I was waiting two hours for the battery to charge. Seems our minds think alike 👍 thanks for blazing the trail!

Very nice retrofit job. I did the same last year using a Makita 18v battery. Works fine, but since the Makita (and Milwaukee) batteries are only 5 cell 18650s, and the original Dyson pack has 6 cells, you do lose suction power in Turbo mode. But, it’s much nicer to be able to swap out batteries after 15 minutes, and keep going, rather than having to wait for the Dyson battery to recharge. I’m not sure why Dyson hasn’t made one with a replaceable battery.

Great idea and build! Quick question though, as Milwaukee batteries don't have any voltage protection built into them. Do you know if the Dyson has any voltage protection in there?
