Absolutely blown away by the support for this plugin pack. I wasn't sure if there would be a large enough market for it. But you all have completely destroyed my expectations! THANK YOU! I just want to make a quick note : I did as much testing on this as I could to make sure it was a quality product. But I am just 1 person and I only have 2 computers I can test it on. So PLEASE let me know if you run into any issues at all. Unfortunately I need to rely on all of you to inform me of any nuanced bugs I might not have run into with my testing. Also, please let me know if there are any features you'd like to see in a future update!
Such a great plugin Dylan. An idea for a feature I've just thought of whilst using the split screen effect - I wonder if there could be a build in/out option, which smoothly transitions the video from being full screen into its split screen position. Would look really professional and great for podcasts :)
I just bought it. It's great. Thank you so much. Can you add a zoom out FX and horizontal left-right/right-left push transitions (with blur)? That would be awesome. I appreciate your work, Dylan.
Thank you, Dylan. I love this product and couldn't wait to buy it. However, I am having one problem, and I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong. When I use the Social Guides - Vertical adjustment layer, it's cropping in on the sides of the video. My video size is 4096x2160.
Dude. This is worth it JUST FOR THE OVERLAYS!!! 🤯 I can't tell you how many times I've had to delete and re-upload to tweak the positioning of my titles or the footage itself so that it wasn't covered up by the overlays on TIkTok, etc. What an incredible set of tools!!!
Bought this and very grateful for The Bro, but I also realized you can upload a Custom Overlay and trigger that using dropdown in the Program Viewer, so you can download several PNG's that are always up to date and add them as custom overlays.
I absolutely hate editing vertical footage, but these tools make the cuts look so much better as well as cleans up my workflow. These tools will forever remain in my kit. Great work!
Hi Dylan! You made my not only a day, you made my life - It was a pain in the ass making these videos... But with your plug in it seems to be not only easier but full of fun too!!!! Thank you!
Thank you so much for creating this as a photographer/videographer this is SO helpful just downloaded today and can see this benefiting my business hugely cheers from New Zealand
I just did my normal long form video. Because of this plugin I just made 5 shorts from that long form in a matter of minutes. This plug-in is so amazing man - worth every penny and more.
Hey @TheFinalCutBro, great plugin! I bought this for the guides and it has helped. Something that caught me out though was A) the rounding of the phone corners and B) the notch on an iPhone which ends up covering the content. Could be a nice additional feature for a future release as an enhancement to the safety zones.
I cannot see a one-single-case-part-of-this that cannot be used somewhere. Each one you presented gave me some ideas immediately, and I's taking notes. I've bought your other plugins that earned you the status of a true Bro, Dylan, meaning I'm "buying before I see what it's about". So while Vertical.. is already installed, I've now watched this to see how you've used it. Blown away with the amount of work put down and I appreciate you keeping the prices human.
The Outliner and Outer glow will work! The split screen is currently stuck to vertical only. I want to add an update that makes most of the accessible for horizontal timelines, but I just didn't have the time on the first iteration.
Well, I spoke too soon. It's works for scaling the video within the framing, but as soon as you need to rotate your video, you're left with crooked framing. Is there any way around that?
Bro, this is amazing! Exactly everything I need in one plugin! Congratulations on the excellent work, I'm going to buy it today. Now the only thing I'll need to solve is an automatic subtitle tool, which for now I still use capcut. If I could suggest something, I would appreciate it.
I wish I knew how to program something like this! That said, I personally use Captionator. That said, for some people Captionator works flawlessly. For others, it’s plagued with issues. So while I personally have had zero issues with it, I’d definitely try it and request a refund if it’s not working for you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g3wUaXb3DlQ.htmlsi=ZRuK-tmHBG-9wN0l
Daaaang dude! You had mentioned a few of these functions you were including, but this is beefy! Definitely gonna get some good use out of this. Killer work! 🎉
Hey Dylan, this plugin is amazing for creating social media shorts! We're thrilled that you made it, and we're here to support you with this fantastic product.
Not sure if you’ve ever tried but I just tried the vertical pro overlay on a test project on FCP for iPad and for the most it works. I was surprised but I’ll be using it on here for some projects. I had to create a library on my Mac using FCP and drop the VPro onto the timeline with a gap at the beginning, made sure all motion templates were in the library and used TransferBox to convert it.
loved the product, but it would be amazing if you would ad more vertical aspects like 1080x1350, 4x5 is used also a lot for video in instagram and looks amazing on the feed.
Wow! This is an incredibly valuable tool set! Vertical video makes me cringe, but my clients are demanding so much content be "vertical friendly" that I'm buying this to make thier videos pop. Great value, Dylan!
@TheFinalCutBro On NoUI & Rotate it takes the centre of the vertical and stretches it horizontally. I do have a load of title overlays and effects on the clip. I can't get a higher resolution using the menu/flip you recommend. I guess it's a bug?
Hi Dylan! As always - great video!!I went ahead and purchased and I have to say thank you for rescuing us folks that have struggled with vertical video/FCPX! I am wondering however if I should be working on a horizontal timeline (to retain quality as you mentioned at the beginning of the video) or, does this plug in retain that same level of quality just by simply simply using it?
Hi There. One Questio. If we want to end up with a 1080 x 1920 vertica, what size shall we start with in the horizontal view FHD or 4K? Thank you Dylan
Question about the plugin: So when you use the Pro Vertical on a horizontal clip, it then can spin it to give you a better quality. How much better or improvment does it give you when working with only 1080 footage as your example is using 4k but I have some older files which were filmed in 1080 horizontal and I would like to use them in some social media videos but if I create a Vertical timeline and drop them on and adjsut the sizing and position some of them look very soft. I was hoping the plugin would improve them but dont want to pay the money and it doesnt. Hope that makes sense. any assistance would be appreciated.
Dylan, great Job! THANK YOU for these amazing features. Just a couple of quick questions: 1.Are you going to update the plugin as soon as the UIs of the different social media apps change? 2. Will the Splitscreen „Triple“ be changeable in the future? For example to 4 or 5? (Many cinematographers use theses splits on their socials instead of 3) Thank you very much in advance! Glad I found you and subbed. 😊
I’m going to update as best I can. I’ll need to rely on third parties to let me know of updates. I actually don’t have a TikTok account at all, and I deleted Instagram off my phone. So the only one I’ll regularly be aware of is shorts. That said, I’m gonna do my best! I’m planning on adding a complete split screen customizer that would allow for that!
This is great! A few questions, what do you recommend when creating a regular RU-vid video and then making it into a short. Do you use auto conform or make it into a square to have the background shown
Personally I would auto conform to fill the screen! But that just comes down to personal taste. That said, you could use the split screen effect to zoom in on 2 - 3 different things at the same time.
Thank you for this amazing creation! Quick question though, how do you move your footage around to fit the vertical overlay? In the video, I see a little red box that allows you to adjust your footage, but I dont see that on my end. Im trying to crop a 16:9 video into vertical if that makes a difference. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
The red box appears when you've zoomed in, in FCP! As for getting your 16x9 video to fit the overlay, you will just need to place the overlay over the top of your footage in the timeline. Hope that helps!
Installation should be pretty easy! Just open the download, and double click on the installer found inside. Then press install and you should be good to go! Reach out to me at dylan@thefinalcutbro.com if you have any issues, and I’ll help as quickly as I can!
Is there any way to add cool effects like those in CapCut? Would be awesome. Your plugin is going to touch down in South Africa after my live stream tonight. 😊
I’ll be adding it to my other store front thefinalcutbro.com here in a few hours. But for now, you can follow the link in the description of the video and get it for 25% off this week on my gumroad store!
I just bought FCB Pro Vertical and installed in transition but not showing in Final Cut Pro transition. And where should I install in my motion template? E.G.Title and transition.
The installer should take care of all that for you! Just open the DMG file you downloaded, then double click the file that says "Double Click To Install". After that you will see an install window pop up and you can just press "install". It will properly move all the files into the correct locations for you. If that doesn't work for you, just send me an email at Dylan@thefinalcutbro.com where screenshots are possible, and that will help tremendously.@@Yeshi212
Hi @TheFinalCutBro, I am having issues with having my videos fully fitting my timeline when I'm in both 1080 and 4k timelines. I want to often make a full clip split screened on one portion of the video and do the same for two or more other splits, but the videos show up much smaller than 1080 or 4k when I place the Split Screen Verticals onto a clip like you said. Is there any workaround for this? If not, could we see an update to fix this?
Hey there! This is due to how FCP spatially conforms your videos by default. To fix this, just select your clips in your browser or on the timeline, then go to your video inspector on the right side and scroll all the way to the bottom. Then change the spatial conform from “Fit” to “Fill” and that should fix your issue!
Hi, Dylan! This message is not related to this particular video, but given the urgency of the response I need from you, I took the liberty of posing it here. I have a little problem, as follows: my FCP suddenyl decided not to play audio effects that I occasinally add to my videos (rim shots, applause, etc). All of them are .mp3, and they ALWAYS played in the past. I was even surprised to see a flat line instead of the waveform when I dragged the audio effects into FCP. Initially, I thought my Mac Pro's memory could be dwindling, but not. I got plenty of space in the HD. Everything plays perfectly right now, except for the little audio effects. I saw one video you made with another guy about changing from .wav to .caf (which is not my case) but I tried it anyway, changing from .mp3 to .caf. It didn't work. Have you heard of this problem before? Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks a lot, bro! Claudio Lessa, in Brasilia, Brazil
Hey Claudio, this issue pops up from time to time. Frequently I can fix this issue just by re-dragging in the audio to my FCP window. For some reason it can lose audio, and that frequently fixes the issue. Another option is to convert the audio from MP3 to WAV. If you have compressor you can do that pretty easily. I find WAV files tend to work better inside FCP. Hope that at least gets you pointed in the right direction!
The smart conform option does work! But this still brings in some of the other issues I mentioned. For example if your graphics aren't designed around a 9x16 timeline, they will be off the screen. And the only way to get them back is to first put it into a compound clip in a 16x9 timeline which can be frustrating.
I am having a problem with the triple split screen effect. I have stacked all videos on top of each other. Added the plugin to each video and selected the position but the video as really small and don't fill the video, not sure what I am ding wrong?
You’re likely using 16x9 footage on a vertical timeline! To fix this, select your clips, then scroll to the bottom of the video inspector and change the spatial conform from fit to fill. Should work perfectly!
Hi Dylan! Such an informative video! Just reaching out because I m having huge problems posting verticals on Instagram as reels? Every time I post the video it becomes much much darker with less colour? Is there a way around it or something I can do before I hit export? I have the upload at highest quality turned on too much its making my videos so dark Editing in Final Cut Pro! In desperate need of help 😔
My best guess is, are you editing HDR clips? It’s possible they are in HDR, and you’re exporting to SDR. That would make it look darker. Outside of that, I’m not sure what could be going on!
