This is such a powerful tool hope you guys enjoyed the video and thank you to mindport for sponsoring the video. If you want to give a try to this asset you can download it here : assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/visual-scripting/vr-builder-open-source-toolkit-for-vr-creation-201913
This is absolutely incredible! I work in digital education and we've been looking for a low/no-code solution that allows us to rapidly create simulations in Unity for VR. We had originally found a company that offers something similar to this but the price they were asking for is just bonkers. To finally find something like this for free and with some many features is just amazing. Thank you for sharing!
I'm so happy you're talking about this! Visual authoring tool will help a lot of newcomer to build their own VR game. Let me know if your students have any feedback regarding VR builder. :)
Amazing! I've been wanting something like this for a long time. I'm an artist/animator who has been wanting to dive into VR since it came out, but I'm not a programmer so I've been wanting an all encompassing no code solution similar to Modbox VR but with standalone export options. This looks like the one!
amazing tool a huge huge mahoosive thank you to the developers for releasing this free its just what i need at this exact moment in my life ive dreamt of havING MY OWN DEVELOPMENT STUDIO SINCE 1980'S AS A KID i can do c# and c++ but i havent coded anything for years and the one thing that has kept me from starting coding is the depth of the process i love it but its a tedios process this tool being open source as well fits perfectly into my state benefits claiming poor man xr development home studio i will definetly be buying the extensions today this is exactly what i needed to re-envigorate me and is sure to have me getting up and running quickly and likely writing code again as the process of seting up has been massively simplified big love to the devs and big love to valem ill be a patreon supporter very soon still trying to aquire tools but your knowledge is invalueable and i will defo support you and the devs trust me people i could not have lived at a better time
This is so cool! i was wondering if you could do a tutorial on an active ragdoll enemy? with some different states. I would love that! Awesome video btw. :)
Great tutorials! I would love some sort of white board tutorial? So we could grab an item and we could draw on a object as long as it’s on a specific layer maybe?
I really like your Tutorials, with them i feel capable of doing everything. One question Valem, u have a video about VR body. Do u think that video is still valid? or there are better ways now days?
I was able to do everything in this tutorial successfully, but what if I only want to touch the door and have it open without using a key? What are the steps for that in VR Builder? Thanks! *EDIT I figured out how to touch the door and have it open without a key.. One of the VR Builder helpers said I simply need to replace the "snap to" step with a "touch" step and now it works when tethered to PC, but using stand-alone in quest2 the hood won't open when I touch it. Still working on it.
What is your opinion of using this tool instead of the built-in unity visual scripting (formerly known as Bolt) for developing a VR game without coding?
I loved the video but I have a problem, when I grab an object, and it collides with my hand or my body, a bug occurs, the speed increases and I leave the map :(
Anyone else doing this tutorial now and not getting the rig working as shown at 6:44? I don't have hands, locomotion, etc. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
Bro I’m starting to get mad I got the thing imported and I’m on unity 6 I don’t know how to start coding using the vr builder, I literally have it and I can click on it but I don’t know what to do from there someone please help me
Excuse me. I do step by step as the video, but my xr rig can't move teleportation like the video. It have the correct ray, but it just don't move. My unity version is 2020.3.37f1. I have change the input system active input system to both. I don't know why it just don't work? Still appreciate about introducing the cool tool and made the film.
Hi Jojo. not sure if you have solved this, but I had a similar problem and solved it. Make sure you select the correct Layer and try to change the Teleport trigger in the teleport area script to 'On Deactivated'
I just tried to do this last week in a live demo session and I can confirm it's easily possible to create a VR UI which acts like a tablet (via touch). If you want a menu with a ray interactor, you would have to create a simple ray interactor condition (which is also not much effort if you know how to code). Just give it a shot. In case you get stuck, feel free to get support in our community: community.mindport.co
I made Animation by shader (I mean I made shader for scrolling material and after that i made animation by animator in unity) can I add that shader to sequence, I mean when I touch object start this animation?
Not sure what you mean with footsteps but you can use the teleport condition to automatically generate teleportation anchors which come with a footstep highlight. Is this what you are referring to?
