great video, I'm 63 and was always taught to think before you do. Using your head is the biggest thing to keep you safe on the internet. Think twice before you click something, Download, or install anything.

Very true!

I entirely agree. I'm also a 63 y/o old fart and the "Measure twice / cut once" maxim also embodies this idea. I've been on the internet since it became available to me and have never had any virus infection by using that maxim. I did have to clear one or two viruses from my kids PCs before they got the hang of thinking ahead.

So Untrue..... I use my head 'BEFORE" I secure Windows Now I can click on anything I want and test all forms of malware against my security profile I have been running every form of malware I can find, yet Windows is still secure I have been running Windows XP-SP2 online for over 9 1/2 years without a single malware problem "WHILE" using it to study "MALWARE" It has "ZERO" MS Security updates and is running in a FULL Admin account (Native Boot) Whenever I hear Britec09 make a statement such as True / or Very True, I know he's wrong or VERY wrong! When correctly secured, Windows XP is safe from ALL forms of Ransomware / Wipers / Rootkits Etc. If you run Windows 11, you already have malware Windows 10 AND 11 ARE MALWARE!!!

@@dingokidneysGreat comment which got me thinking ... "Measure twice / cut once" It sounds simple but here's what Co-Pilot delivered whilst I was considering your analogy as a maxim for everyday life it's a bit long but have a read. The saying "Measure twice, cut once" is a valuable piece of advice that extends beyond carpentry and craftsmanship. It encapsulates the idea that careful planning and preparation can prevent costly mistakes or wasted effort. Let's explore this analogy further: - Precision and Accuracy: When you measure something twice before making a cut, you ensure accuracy. In life, this translates to taking the time to gather information, analyze situations, and make informed decisions. Rushing into actions without proper assessment can lead to errors or setbacks. - Forethought and Planning: Before cutting, consider the implications. Similarly, in life, thinking ahead and planning can save time, resources, and prevent unnecessary complications. Whether it's a project, a relationship, or a career move, thoughtful consideration pays off. - Risk Mitigation: Cutting once without measuring can result in wasted materials. In life, hasty decisions may lead to regret or missed opportunities. By measuring (assessing risks) and then cutting (taking action), you minimize the chances of negative outcomes. - Patience and Diligence: Measuring twice requires patience. Similarly, achieving goals often demands persistence, resilience, and attention to detail. Rushing can lead to shortcuts that compromise quality. - Learning from Mistakes: If you cut too soon, you might ruin the material. In life, mistakes happen, but learning from them is crucial. Measure twice, learn from the first cut, and adjust your approach. Remember, this saying isn't just about carpentry-it's a reminder to approach life with care, thoughtfulness, and a willingness to learn. 📏✂ If only....

And some people say that installing Arch Linux is hard. These days, making a Windows system usable by clearing out all the cruft, defeating all the telemetry and installing things like this to make what functionality is built in accessible is at least as difficult. At least with Arch you know that you have only that stuff that you will use and you don't have strange things running in the background doing unimaginable things.

Microsoft should redesigned Defender to match the Windows 11 Settings app UI. It still uses the old UI from Windows 10

Hmm Brian now two things this really gets up my nose when I think that Microsoft have just built in some very basic controls with this Defender security leaving those who rely on it to download this program if they so wish and if they are savvy enough to use it because some of the controls being semi savvy I find some of the controls a tad confusing. The other thing is I run ESET Smart Security/Ultimate on my machines and it takes over the Defender stuff so is it going to affect that control and is it worth my while using this software or is it going to create problems with the ESET security??

Brian Sir what is recovery partition in Windows? What is its use? I reinstalled my Windows PC are drivers already present in the recovery partition?
@fredfenwick7047
@fredfenwick7047 5 месяцев назад
I think the recovery portion contains the files to reinstall Windows from the Windows Update/Recovery page in Settings, the drivers are most likely downloaded from the Windows update server.
@Ratchet_effect

Recovery partition contains the files of system backup image and files that guide system restoration. I.E If you do a system restore from a restore point.
@fredfenwick7047

As far as I know system restore files are saved in a separate folder on the primary drive C portion not on the recovery portion.

Dell for one put them there in 10/11 and in some older OS,s like XP we're custom manufacture installs were made they did the same stinky thing too! It's supposed to be a safe/locked area of your C drive but.. you can change it yourself & even delete it, resize it, that'll end badly if not done correctly. I didn't see your 1st comment/post before until now, I was confused for a second haha
@fredfenwick7047
@fredfenwick7047 5 месяцев назад
Ok yes I understand some big manufacturers like Dell & HP do their own thing under Microsoft OEM license for system recovery image to put the device back to how it was when you first bought it, yes resizing live portions can be dodgy you have to tread carefully !
