Hey Talisha. I love how you don't cut corners by doing things the cheap way out to your brand, by using 2 wicks for the size of jars you are using. I see others will make large or larger candles and use 1 wick, and then continue to complain about the scent throw and tunelling etc. But i watch the video with you & makesy when the lady explained everything to you about candle making, with the jar sizes, wicks and waxes etc. I found that video very helpful in all the information that she shared about candle making, the waxes, the wicks and jar sizes etc. That video is and would be very helpful to new candle makers, so they can learn and gain more knowledge in the candle making business. Because many will look at businesses such as yours and think it's as easy as 1, 2, 3 to making candles. But they fail to realized the money, time, patient and other things people like you go thru to keep your business up and growing. Also many are just out here looking for the easy way out by just getting your recipes to make a dollar without putting their heart and soul into it by testing their products before selling them like yourself. So i admire you a great deal on where you came from to where you are now and going with the help and blessing from our lord Jesus Christ. Keep praying and stay focused on your business and journey going forward etc. I will continue to pray for you and your business future abuntantly like i have been doing from the time you took heed to Jesus voice about the crystals. God bless you sis. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I really liked this video and subscribed to your channel! Lot of wisdom in there with all the practical stuff. I've thought a lot about Stockton Rush and the submersible that he made. I like to make stuff on my own too so I get that desire and most of us are fine making our own stuff or at least we don't die because of something we've made. I think the key is to be careful to never be overconfident either in yourself or in anything you've made, particularly when it comes to safety. You could be the best person at something in the world and still make a mistake so you have to be doubly careful when what you are doing means the difference between life or death for people. I live in abject poverty so of course I want to make as many things for myself as possible and spend the least amount of money possible but it's important to weigh the cost of things that could potentially go wrong too. Remember that life is worth more than all these silly little green pieces of paper (and all the non-US currency that is actually prettier) in the world, which is why safety matters (although I also argue that fear should not prevent a person from having quite a bit of fun either). The thing that was different about Stockton Rush and many other rich people like him is that he thought more highly of himself that he ought, which seems to be something that afflicts rich people a lot or perhaps they are just more noticeable because they can afford to really make arses of themselves compared to the rest of us. Perhaps if any of us got super rich like that, we'd also convince ourselves it was due to some quality we cultivated in ourselves and minimize the fact that so much of success is luck and luck only plays a larger part in it as the decades go by. If you start believing that your wealth is an indication of your intelligence more than your luck and convince yourself that your wealth means you shouldn't have to question your own ideas rigorously since they must be genius, you're much more likely to make mistakes that you refuse to acknowledge and get yourself killed. Lots of people tried to warn Stockton of the dangers and urge him to test the structural integrity of his submersible but he stuck his nose up at those people like rich people are want to do unfortunately and thinking he was above criticism because no one else was as smart as he thought he was definitely lead to his demise. Luckily for the rest of us, when we've thought more highly of ourselves than we ought, we lacked the resources to fuck things up in as big a way and therefore learned from our mistakes instead of dying from them. I also want to really thank you for mentioning homelessness and how this stupid amount of money that people paid to go look at the Titanic for themselves could and should have been used to help people who society has left without enough basic necessities of life while these richasses waste money. I don't begrudge rich people just for their wealth but there's something wrong when some people have more than they could ever spend in a lifetime while so many (or any) other people can't even afford their lives. I was homeless several times before and I appreciate people not overlooking us. It wasn't so bad the times when I was homeless but I owned a car because the cops actually let you get a decent sleep in your car. This last time, I was on my bike and on foot and I think everyone in the world treats their pets better than I was treated as a fellow human being. I wasn't someone who had never talked to a homeless human being before either and I had been talking to homeless friends for a decade before the first time I became homeless myself. By the time I was homeless on bike/foot, I had been talking to homeless friends for more than 20 years but nothing had prepared me for that kind of dehumanization that I experienced when I was homeless without a car. It's bad enough with a car but it's hell without one because it seems that it has become illegal to look poor in this country. Luckily, my mom let me come live with her again even though I'm fucking 44 and I help her out now because she has cancer again and my brother is disabled but, luckily, in different ways than I am so we help each other. Part of what I can do that my brother can't is drive and I have to drive him to the same city where the cops told me that I'd be arrested if I ever came back into that city. Somehow, the cops don't even recognize me and they don't even slow down to fuck with me when, just a few months before, they threatened me with arrest (obviously for no valid cause) every time their stanky bacon asses would roll by. Suddenly, when I'm driving my mom's car, I don't look like the same person to them even though I am the same person. They are targeting people who they think don't have the resources to stand up for themselves in court or they deprive a person from even living to take that shit to court. It just shocks me so much the huge difference between how one is treated driving the car versus riding a bike versus being on foot versus being homeless and on foot. So much of it is about how people see you when justice requires us all seeing other people as people and that is why I thank you for caring about homeless people because a lot of people seem to hate us.

I make candles and just started using wooden wicks but I don’t like the burn of the wood. Do you soak your wicks first? I tried doing that but it still burns wrong. I wish they didn’t stop making the HTP sticks I was using lol

Most candle makers that are doing very well in the candle business always say 1 to 2 weeks depending on the type of wax you are using for your business brand. Look up on YT for curing time frame for candles you will find a few to check out. But always remember to make and test your products before selling them. So that you can market your products with the correct information on your website and label, such as how long the size of candle you are making will take to burn completely. Lastly, every fragrance is different, so always test your products before selling them, because some wicks can react differently to certain fragrances etc. But if you are making, selling, using and making your candles of certain fragrances, then you know everything about those candles you are making. But if you are trying new or mixing fragrance to create your own special scent for your brand, always test, test, test them before selling. I hope this helps.
