In this video I will show how to make your own patterns and turn these into a handmade leather luggage tag. Lets get started.
Materials:
Paper and card for patterns
3/8" whole buckle
1.5 mm veg tanned shoulder
0.8 mm clear pvc

It's a good skill for people to learn and as I'm not going to create a pattern download for this I figured I'd show everyone how I made it. Also like you said it allows for more creativity 🙂

Very interesting and well described video please can you tell me what size awl blade you use it looks much more slender than mine which widens the hole on the face side if I push it in more than about5mm

Hey Doug, not with linen threads as they will burn. If you are using a man-made thread like corespun polyester you can, just be careful not to burn the leather.

The thread is it Lin Cable Fil Au Chinois? What size was it?

Hello, yes it is lin cable thread. The size depends on what sized stitching you are doing but I generally use the 432 size for mine and I stitch in a fine 7 stitches per inch. Hope that helps. Jo
