Other than one thing, because the filter Is opened In the engine bay, It sucks hot air and therefore the engine In theory Is less powerful but by a horsepower or two
yes great. but would put the cap back on in hot summer days for better cooling. now he gets more warmer air from the engine compartment in winter days ideal. does a Modrić heat up faster 😎👍
Fuel consumption = you are pressing more gas pedal Engine wear = more dust coming through filter going to internal moving parts / accelerating when car is cold just to get satisfied with sound Loss of performance = car is "sucking" warm air from engine bay
i understand the loss in performance due to the hot air from the engine bay, what i dont understand is the "extra engine wear" can you explain your reasoning for it ? id love to learn why
Open air filter can actually expose your engine to more dirt and debris. This increased intake of foreign bodies can put more wear on the internal moving parts of the engine and potentially cause damage there, though this is fairly uncommon. Plus a lot of non-petrol heads will accelerate hard without carrying on engine temperature.
The stock intake system is essentially a cold air intake since it draws air from the outside of the engine bay as opposed to most of the cold air intakes which just draw air from as far away as possible but still in the engine bay.
Nope it's not for free...you need a K&N air filter. 😁 By the way indeed it's very very bad for the engine cause it will swallow hot air... You can also remove the exhaust and the turbo to have a car sounding like a F1, but your Roadster will be about 21hp 😂😂
