@@TheShahed97 So you will have to check one bag (I suggest you check your suitcase with your personal items) and carry all your equipment in a carry-on size camera bag. You are allowed a personal item in addition to this which can be a small backpack - maybe put a few clothing items in there in case your suitcase gets lost/delayed. Make sure you check the carry on baggage size for the airline you're flying - they can be different from one airline to another. Also checking in in advance prevents them from weighing your carry on bag in case it happens to be overweight (which is likely when it's camera gear haha). This way you can just print your bag tag at the kiosk and go straight to bag drop.
@@LizziePeirce I'm visiting Chicago to meet up with Eric Floberg (highly recommend looking him up, he makes some hilarious & educational photography/filmmaking RU-vid videos, very similar to y'alls videos), Jesse Schroeder (epic DP), and Aaron Bean (awesome photog/videographer).
Awesome video and great tips! :) Also... “in a land far, far away” vs “in a land “fur, fur away”... far/farther is for physical distance while further is for metaphorical distances.
I KEEP forgetting to get a Nexus card! DOING NOW! (just kidding I'm making coffee and will forget until next time I travel again and am reminded that I forgot to do it)
Thanks,Lizzie for all of travel tips. It really helpful to me because I never travel a lot and I gonna turn 18 this year. Also,I will go to college soon . LOL,😂 that sheet mask.😂
I'm travelling right now and next month! These are great! Especially your bag. I keep on bringing my bag with loads of camera gear on my back. 😂 That's a great idea! 😁
Wow I just got confirmed my first travel trip for a client for photography. I'm under a year in and also managed to negotiate my friend to come along as a videographer. This video couldn't have come at a better time 😭
Love your videos, Lizzie. I do want to comment regarding books ... I’ve read so many books in my lifetime, but I had to switch to the Kindle Reader. I love it because it’s so thin (better than a bulky book) the pages look just like a book and I have a library of other books ready to be read 🤗👍🏽 so easy!
haha Vloging when feeling very tired was quite funny :) The biggest tip I would also give to someone : don't forget to remove your leatherman from your carry-on. So painful when you must give it to the security...
I travel everyday. It’s my life. I have hygiene products, a backpack, and electronics with A few articles of clothing that I donate to goodwill every 4 weeks then replace them with Costco clothes. I have no suitcases.
Great tips! This summer I’m going to be travelling to BC (third time), I’m curious if you have any favourite places to visit other than the island, Vancouver, or whistler?
One thing i noticed is that you take your Macbook with you (and maybe your iPad) but in your last video talking about the PC you were bashing your macbook, so when you are on the go: Do you still use your macbook for video editing? And a question about your iPad, do you have any great apps or tips/tricks using iPads on set / in production? You lost me in your last video, but this video reminded me why i’m subscribed. (Even tho i almost never travel lol)
Gido if you made it to the end of my last video, I mentioned that I’m still going to use my MacBook when I travel as I can’t really take my desktop haha. I also can’t afford a new PC laptop right now. So yes I do for now, but considering how much more speed I can get with a pc for the cost, I’ll probably be switching too. On my iPad on set I use google drive for all my documents but honestly the iPad I only got a few months ago so I’ll look into if there are any other apps that would be useful so I can include it in a future video!
Lizzie Peirce Yes i watched the whole video, but i wasn’t sure if you would use it for video editing still. I totally get the switch to pc, and i do agree that it is better, i just didn’t get the negativity towards the macbook. But maybe that is just my heart for apple that was hurt. Im curious what the future holds for iPads in production, can’t wait for iPadOS! For me im in love with my Logitech Crayon pencil for notes and stuff, and signing documents. I used to take my macbook on set, but it wasnt practical with quitclaims and stuff. I think im sticking with Macbooks and iMacs (maybe mac pro) but with the PC and maybe windows laptop, don’t you find it annoying that everything is not synced up anymore? (Contacts, Agenda’s) Or isn’t it that big of a adjustment?
I pretty much use it for purely editing so it doesn’t bother me really! And my “hate” on Mac was a bit exaggerated because I was just so excited about the export time. They’re not bad computers, just expensive for what you get!
I liked the suggestion of taking what you want out of your bag before boarding....then you can sit and chill faster and NOT be that guy holding up the aisle. Nice.
What is this.. Actual Book thing you speak of? like.. actually a book on my ipad? No... Like... paper!?? What is this!?? hahaha Great tips! I am traveling tomorrow so helpful reminder!
ANAK Creates LOLLLLL yeah I like actual books. Cause if all else fails, you don’t need to charge it or sign into it or download it blah blah hahaha. Enjoy your trip!
@@LizziePeirce haha i kid, cuz i totally know whatcha mean, i just almost never actually have physical books. and thanks!! I will! Back to toronto again so thats nice! miss that place!!
@@LizziePeirce Ahhh ok well that's a big factor to then haha and yes! I will be! Going to be in Toronto again for 10 days or so! Very excited to be back in my old stompin' grounds!!! :)
Hey Lizzie! I'm from India. Want to become a filmmaker(youtuber) like you. But don't know how to start. BTW your videos are just amazing. I love your content. Please help me with starting my RU-vid channel. Your Fan 💙
Thanks so much for watching my videos. :) The biggest way to start is just to START SHOOTING. Anything! Getting great takes time and practice so use whatever camera you have now and make something. :)
Lizzie Peirce not your video itself haha. I mean I had two before it started and three during that I had to watch. Video was actually quite informative.
