Hold up, you can use Poster Paint mixed in water, then in cement? Wow thought you had to buy expensive pigments/stains for concrete/cement. I loved the pink idea

I use the oil as a release agent. I found without it, I found the cement stuck to the forms and often breaks as I took it out of form.

Another good release agent you can use is car or surfboard wax.

Surely you would wet your inlays first to prevent them from taking in the moisture from the base ciment ?? great idea ,,,,
