Robert is truly the super capacitor Jesus, here he is giving out knowledge for free which many companies have spend millions on and still couldn't achieve, keep up the awesome work and can't wait for FWG batteries powering the world.

It amazes me every time you flip a switch in that tiny tiny postage stamp-sized capacitor runs a motorized device like that it boggles my mind how that tiny thing can store that much energy. The word supercapacitor doesn't really even do it justice it's absolutely amazing to me every time I see this.I have not been doing this work anymore I've had a lot of health problems and I've been doing more therapeutical things like I do pottery now and I realize I have almost every single chemical that you ever bring up in my pottery supplies. I had a lump of zinc and I needed some sink two then convert to zinc oxide so I have about 2 gallons of zinc sulfate solution sitting on my bench in my basement.the only thing I cannot find is grafoil when I look up grafoil I get valve packing supplies are strips of material I think that are packed with graphite. I may have to visit your store after all

I just ordered some graphene and some of your flake graphite. I can't wait to experiment with it. I've been making my own activated carbon next to Llyn Crafnant, a Welsh mountain lake. Between that view and your vids I have inspiration aplenty. Thanks for your sharing the fruits of your intellectual labours so readily.

Hi Rob, your videos are so incredible inspiring for me. I am currently doing my first trials and thanks to your videos it was already a success. Only with the electrolyte i am struggling a bit because i used natrium chlorid instead of natriumsulfate, which lead to a big leak current as well as to a 0,5V cap limit voltage.

Great stuff Robert. I hope the folk write down their experimental methods carefully so we can repeat their success's.

Hi Robert! First off, you are a total bad ass. I've got a very ambitious project and extremely little money, lol. Don't know if you read these or if you'd be willing to engage in a cheeky theoretical convo, but I'm trying to design a 333kwh energy storage system. This is not a commercial project and I have no intention to ever commercialize it. One of the dreams in my mad scientist mind is to make the little intentional community I'm joining fully and robustly energy dependent. I'm curious if you think graphene or any other super caps could be the answer. I keep hearing super capicitive battery tech hasn't been released cause they're having trouble making it "commercially viable". Personally suspicious this is more about patent shelving a better tech that would break their current income stream then it is about the inability to make it work. But I don't mind if it takes me and my community a year or more to manufacture enough cells, I just wanna accomplish the thing. Anyway, any tips would be so appreciated, and it'd just be a joy and honor to chat. Hope you're well. Keep up the spectacular channel.

Would adding a small amount of wetting detergent help with electrolyte penetration, I think a kelp seaweed surfactant solution at approx 2% by weight of water would lower the water surface tension significantly. just a thought...and yes once i have one of your kits i will try it.

I'm working through newbie questions - how do you know what voltage to charge a brand new device at? How do you know when it is fully charged? How much is the super capacitor kit

I have been following this channel for a few years. It seems to me you could use some production concepts and such to help boost manufacturing. I am not a physicist so I wouldn't be the one to develop energy density improvement or theory, but I am an engineer specializing in manufacturing. If you are in need of production concept development / improvements / implementation ideas I would like to connect. Would gladly donate some of my extra time if provided more scope details & a problem description, but I have a pretty good idea of the mission so far. You may be all setup with a plan, and are just following through - in that case I'm an eager future customer! Let me know if there is a need in general manufacturing that can be met. - PS are there intentions of becoming a publicly traded company in the future?

What makes this battery with carbon and zinc in it different from the non-rechargeable "carbon-zinc" cheap batteries sold at regular supermarkets? Why can these be recharged, but the store-bought ones not be?

Great video Rob! You sold me on getting that kit! I would thoroughly enjoy having everything ready to mix in cute clean little containers with little or no impurities. (And I was just about to order some sbr to experiment with anyways) This kit is appealing to me now esspecially, because most of my difficulties arose from making things "cost efficient" and large scale. Buying in bulk, trying to make everything from the cheapest base form, building up or down, and most of time, i ended up with a lot of black paint (Luckily, it's my favorite color lol) I planned to move to the more controlable and repeatable micro realm, but I've paused for a few months now while getting a more permanent house and "controlled" lab setup built. (Dogs are my life, single dog hairs are my bane) lol This kit will definitely rekindle the micro battery and fungi lab spirit tho! And also give me a good baseline to compare the quality/performance of my future carbon concoctions. Thanks for all that you do FWG boys and gals, its what puts the pep in my step! Cheers mates!

Do you have to limit the charge current? If you use a battery to charge it, what stops it from being a dead short initially?

isn't that actually thin graphite rather than graphene? Graphene is a 2D material, and is therefore transparent. I've been trying everything that's come to mind with electrochemical exfoliation, but still have not been able to regularly produce graphene. Only extremely small portions of it among huge portions of itty bitty graphite. And even then, I'm not entirely confident that even that is graphene and not sodium sulfate darkened with graphite. I've been searching high and low for a way to consistently produce graphene aside from scotch tape-cleaving method. Sadly, that's the only way to produce authentic graphene for now

I'm still learning and drinking from the fire hose as they say when it comes to chemistry so bear with my question....... In this vid you comment on the advantages of the higher potential voltages of a zinc sulphate electrolyte vs. say the KOH. 1. Can you comment / help me understand if some of that advantage can be offset by the higher solubility (about 2:1) for KOH electrolytes? 2. Is there a reason for targeting 1 M solution and not higher ???? Thanks Dennis

I was wondering, could you apply a low dc or maybe ac voltage to the grafene in liquid form to line-up the grafene atoms, (like in crystal growth) to get uniform grafene? maybe you could also get a better bonding of the grafene to the grafiol by apply a voltage.

Given a common set of ingedients and precise instructions and quantity measurements, it should be possible to reliably produce identical performing batteries each and every time. To suggest that performance and results obtained are dependent on individual skill is unscientific bullshit typically employed by snakeoil salesmen. Two conductive plates narrowly separated by an insulator make a capacitor. Graphene is not necessary or even desireable in order to produce a capacitor.
