I experiment with new materials, I break down the cost for you all, and explain what you pay for in the store v.s. what you could make yourself and save $$$! You wont believe the mark-up on some of these store items. Also, at the end I have two testers that will give you their opinion on how it all turned out. Thanks for hanging out with me while I make DIY chap stick!

I’m addicted to chapstick! I use it a million times a day. My sister, that passed away 2 years ago was addicted too and whenever we were around each other and needed chapstick we would yell “Emergency, Emergency” and we would know that we needed chapstick asap lol. I miss being able to say that and someone know what I’m talking about but it was a special saying between us. Thanks for sharing how to make your own chapstick.

Good Sunday morning, Stephanie! Have you thought about looking into an Etsy store to sell your products? I watch all of Morrow hill. I came to you from Pawpaw. You have a soothing voice, and explain things thoroughly! I can tell you are getting more and more comfortable with the camera! I hope you continue to be yourself and don't listen to negativity or feel pressure to change anything about your channel. Nothing worse than click bait and drama. Thank you for sharing your life with us! Much love from Central Mississippi ❤️

I have a chap-stick with me almost always. I'm super picky when it comes to them. I don't like the ones that feel waxy and glob on and I've noticed, also, that some don't last. I have to keep reapplying often. I like that you fill them all the way. The store bought ones seem to be only half way filled and don't last long. I would definitely buy yours to try if you decide to start selling.

This is reminding me I need to make more chapstick. My mom made me a vanilla mint one a few years ago that has been my favorite ever. It stayed on my lips through the night without being too oily or waxy. These look so cute and I’ve never heard of mango butter so now I’ll have to research. I wanted to mention, you can buy dropper tops for your essential oils to make measuring out easier. I use EOs all the time and when I found them they were a game changer, especially when you get the odd wonky ones that don’t just drop out with a tap on the bottom of the bottle, but pour and mess up the ratio. I found them on Amazon and you can get them for 5ml, 10ml and 15ml bottles. Thanks for another great video! I’m really enjoying reconnecting with things I grew up doing and you’ve kinda fanned those embers to pick it all back up again and make sure to pass it on to my son and nieces and nephews so they’ll have it when they become adults and can pass it down.

Another great informative and helpful video Steph! My lips tend to be on the dry side and I use chapstick many times a day because of my dry lips! This will be a money saving help for me definitely ! Can the tubes be refilled ? Of coarse I’d only refill my own for my own use , but if so it would save me even more money ! I see you walked in on Kim trying to perfect her biscuit recipe that her grandparent’s ( I forgot if it was grandma or grandpa’s recipe) biscuit recipe that the family loved and no one has been able to perfect yet, but she says she’s gotten close this last time!! I’m like you Steph I have chapstick everywhere around the house and in my purse!! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻

Great video Stephanie. Can't wait to try. You're right that mica is a naturally occurring mineral, thats shimmery. The color or pigment they add to the mico is not necessarily naturally occurring. So anyone with allergies to dyes should test it first. I use thin craft sticks to transfer into projects I do. Lets you have more control over amount. The more mica you add to your mixture the faster it will set. Mica will always may the chapstick more shimmery when applied, and adding more mica should intensity color as you suggested. Thanks for sharing Stephanie.

I use an old chocolate fondue pot to make balsam poplar salve, I have been forced to dedicate it only to that particular salve it is so persistent, I think adding the tree resin to the beeswax really put it over the edge in durability but boy is that stuff nice. It contains a small amount of natural salicylic acid or aspirin from the resin and is in an olive oil, beeswax, lavender EO (optional) base. Without essential oils it smells like the boreal forest in spring. Men would enjoy the scent of it in a beard balm. It was eye opening to realize everything we use is basically the same ingredients in different ratios and prepared differently. Oils, water and wax or butters. Add no liquid you get a salve, butter or balm. add liquid and whip, you get a cream or pomade. Add more water and less wax/butter and emulsify and you get a lotion or conditioner.

I am like you with chap stick everywhere!!! If I was to change my pocketbook and forgot my chapstick, my lips would instantly get dry. I would have to find the nearest store and go buy one. It’s like that if I forget my water, I instantly get thirsty. My sisters think I’m crazy about the chapstick but, I can’t help it. I think it would be very pretty if you added more tint to get just a little color. I don’t wear 38:10 lipstick but once in a blue moon so a pink tint would be great. Can’t wait to see you use the tints in other lip balm. What’s next???😊😊😊
