A Combi rig offers anglers the best of both worlds; a stiff invisible fluorocarbon boom section paired with a supple section just below the hook, aiding hooking. Although Combi Rigs are fantastic rigs, they are tricky to make, and once the hook is blunt you must make another rig, but not now. With the Loops and Booms you can simply just change the supple section in seconds! In this AD Quickbite, we show you how to make your own so you will never be fishing without a sharp hook again.

@@AnglingDirectTV what size crimp are you useing for the boom
@charliegreen1989
@charliegreen1989 2 года назад
@@bertharding1987 depends on what lb breaking strain of Boom you use. 0.5mm for 15lb, 0.6mm for 25lb or 0.7mm for 35lb. The key is to match the crimp size as close to the diameter of the hooklink.

Would just use a Albright Knot to join, and not all this crimping (more stuff to buy) Business. And only sharpen a hook once, maybe twice and bin and re make. But that's just me :)

Need a hook with a big eye, practically impossible with most hook's
@stevesracingbits
@stevesracingbits 2 года назад
Use a fox green needle to pull it through the eye if your struggling not found a hook yet I can't get it through unless your using a size 8 or smaller which these rigs are not designed for really

Your right ! I overcome the problem using a short lenght of Kruiser Control ( any 10lb line will do ) .. feed it through the front eye of the hook , through the braided loop continuing back through the back of the eye and pull through... 👍 saves a lot of agg 👍🎣

Is funny watching people in Europe take carp fishing so serious & way over the top rigs when all you need is a small hook split shot and a piece of bread thats how we slay em in Australia & learn to fish as children
@AnglingDirectTV

The simplest of methods can definitely catch carp in the right situation, but sometimes on more difficult waters you need to up your game.

@@AnglingDirectTV not matter what your fishing for I think people focus to much being fancy and stead of doing the simple things to perfection and reading the environment

could you cast that bread 140 yards and keep it on? or what about if you are fishing throughout the night would it still be on the hook in the morning? How would you stop small nuisance fish from eating the bread and leaving a bare hook out for hours? Sometimes these complicated rigs are necessary.
