These are not magic stakes but my wife and I wanted to pray over our property with our girls and give the land to God. We wrote verses we wanted to pray over the land on the stakes and then hammered them into the ground. It was beautiful. First of all, it's great that you are teaching your children the Bible. One of the great things about the Bible is that it teaches you how to think, not just what to think. Some would liken prayer sticks to voodoo dolls and tarot cards. I'm not saying that it's that serious, but it can be in the wrong hands. Useful tool though. Makes a good hole dibber.
