Here's a simple way to get you television up on the wall without spending lots of money on a fancy mounting bracket.
I've installed a lot of TV's to the wall using conventional brackets, but this homemade solution has worked for me plenty of times before in the past, and has never failed.
This is the biggest TV I've hung in this way - So I'm taking no chances!
The method of installation I'm using here gives you a 'close to the wall' flush fitting.

Great idea buddy 👍, very DIYer!! For those that don't have access to the U channel, a French Cleat system would also work

Nice idea mate but i would have used the French cleat system with just 2 Grip it fixings. I did this for my son's TV and it's holding just fine. Still clever the way you designed your bracket though. 👍

This is basically a FRENCH CLEAT... I would trust the wood OVER the u-channel when it comes to french cleats.

@@JBTV Great vid, dude, Thanks again! :) - …and let's raise a glass to all those fellas lamenting their broken TV's, after ignoring your sound advice about the horizontal 'pulling force' the TV naturally creates. Without doubt, French cleat system is GREAT and looks ace, but IF one has cheap dirty dry wall (or pauper plaster board walls in uk) esp. when unable to locate wall studs/framing behind, then the TV would rip itself and the cleat system out the flippin' wall in a matter of hours or days if lucky, esp the older heavier flatscreen TVs (2009 S0ny Bravia 32" for example)!!!!

That was brilliant Justin,what a cracking idea,what make were the wall plugs, I take it you have dot & dab walls and would they be any good for partition wall fixings

Thanks pikricky. The annoying thing about dot and dab walls is that you can't even find a stud to drill into. But anyhow, the fixings work really well into masonary as a standard rawlplug, and also into plasterboard by squashing up behind the board.

So yes they should work well for a partitioned wall. They are made by Diall, not the best brand I know, but, I think they do a cracking job, used them a lot in the past.

Thanks Justin,I live in a kit built house in Ayr Scotland,most new builds up here are the same so every wall inside is partition,we don't really have dot n dab up here@@JBTV
