I love modern software features like subject masking to create this effect. But have you ever tried to solve this "analog" by thinking about your foreground and background color choices while shooting? I like to use color gels for my flashes to create a color tint in the subject, which then also creates a different tint in the foreground and background by choosing a suitable white balance. The result is pure and even the best mask can't match the quality. Just for inspiration. I love your work and your tips! Keep up the good work!
Hey! Good point, it’s definitely fun to shoot your subject in front of a colourful or a symmetrical place. Like I did in the thumbnail. Gels are so much fun to work with as well! I have used them on previous shoots. I feel like the possibilities are endless when it comes to photography 😍
Sometimes I do a similar trick but with brightness, I darken or lighten the background to create greater separation from the subject. I don't usually change the color in very large parts of the photo.
Heyy! I totally understand your question. I feel like this way the selection is more accurate. I’ve tried both ways, but have decided to continue with the way I shared in the video. But definitely try out for yourself what works best. Thanks for watching 💫🙏🏼
