Honestly, I always feel I am not doing anything special. I hope one day I will be able to explain how 'not doing anything special' works in practice :)
Wow ! What a job ! Looks and sounds gorgeous. You really work hard on it i guess ! I was really hesitating on the XPO for now, but you really give me a new vision on it. You Rock
And done! I just made the deal last night! I'll have the XPO in about a week from now! It will join Qpas and Xpan, with MI Beads and Tiptop Zdsp in the main chain. Watching this all again!
You outdid yourself with the production! I think the big question for me is how long will I be able to resist acquiring an XPO? (They'll probably go out of stock right after I decide to buy one.)
I pre-ordered one too the moment it was possible. I really want to experiment with two modules and explore 'complex oscillator' territory. Totally unsure what it will bring, but 100% sure it will be fun.
I am REALLY trying hard to ignore the fact that I want this XPO Module! Sublime Video you've created here. Make Noise should offer you a position in their Company!💡🎶🎛👏🏽💥🤖❗
I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and I love you channel. Your sounds and video production are top notch and I’ve learned a ton! If you don’t mind me asking, what do you use for video editing software? Thanks!
As always, your videos look and sound amazing. I do however have a lot of problems following them and I think I finally figured out why. 1) All the Make Noise modules look the same. When jacks are right next to each other I can’t tell if one or two modules are being used. Maybe if there were gaps between modules it would be easier to see where one ends and the other begins. 2) Reading the text makes sure I can’t watch what you are doing. When I finally glance up I have to figure out what module you are using (since they all look the same). Often times you are adjusting one that wasn’t in the text I just read. So I don’t know if what you are doing is about to be explained in text or if you have moved on while I was reading. In this video you mentioned the Mimeophone being useful for something but when I looked up you were adjusting a different module and I couldn’t see the Mimeophone at all. 3) Your b roll close ups look great but because all Make Noise stuff looks the same and each panel is kind of chaotic I have no idea where the thing you just highlighted is. So I guess my problem (and it could just be my problem) is my divided attention and constant reorienting myself to the sea of black and gold make it difficult for me to keep up. I still enjoy your videos because they sound amazing but I hate the feeling of missing out on your knowledge:(
Thanks a lot for your constructive comment. I completely know what you mean. With XPO and QPAS together I found myself tweaking the L-Radiate, when R-Modulate was intended. The 'system-x' layout starting from the Mono chapter works much better since X-Pan is between them. I am aware all that B&G can be confusing if you don't patch yourself but you'll quickly develop muscle memory. Patching ergonomics are really good. I have similar issues with Mutable Instruments, which look great, but I just can't see the little green/orange/red icons on the panels. For me, MN is much easier!
In a way I agree with you, but if you patch Make Noise Module in real it is really very well thought out and very intuitive. Maths is a very good example of this. If someone asked me which modulator I would recommend at the beginning, it would always be Maths, because you get so many additional functions, such as: 1. 2 times envelope 2. 2 times LFO 3. 2 times slew limiter 4. 2 times offset +- 5. 4 channel mixer 6. rectifier 7. ... Actually, I am already missing a 2nd Maths
@@Oschi76 I'm in the watching videos to learn stage. I think adding the blanks will help some. I'll still have some problems following due to reading. Once I have some of this stuff I'll probably go back and watch again and pause repeatedly. lol
I love your videos and hope you don’t make any fundamental changes (although I recognize the OP’s point of view - when I am in ‘learning mode’ I pause your videos frequently). Thanks for all your work and music.
XLFO noodles were just brilliant as the high point of another inspired video travelogue. So glad I bought one today from Asheville Moog Store 3rd party gear closeout😢
It's from a Seinfeld episode. He wakes up when a SF B movie is on the TV. I think Tony made a little tribute to that episode. I figured it would be a great opening for Episode 01
