The narrative of these MLMers went from "I make all this supplemental passive income at home in my sleep and you can too" to "I work so hard, this is devastating to my entire life" really quickly...

Empire? You built an empire? You do not own a company. You work for someone else. The most you can be is a successful sales person/recruiter for a company someone else owns. These women are brainwashed.

Just wanna throw out that 99% of MLM participants lose money. The folks that are upset about the model switching are the ones that managed to take advantage of social engineering.

I grew up in a cult. MLMs make me so depressed they seriously prey on vulnerable people. Here in the US they target religious communities, military spouses, immigrants and many MANY desperate people. It hurts my heart to see any of them exist. They operate EXACTLY like cults.

Dont underestimate the 'cultness' of an MLM. I worked in direct marketing for only 3 months and we got brainwashed every morning. It was called 'training'. They even make you believe that important people in your life who dont agree with what you do are jealous and you dont need them in your life. Its absolutely horrible. And once a month the Boss Babe comes to pitch his rags to riches story and show off his wealth 🙄

I made a comment a few days ago on SM about this makeup company being an MLM. I barely survived, guys. A herd of "huns" came for me. It was wild.

Now their downline becomes their COMPETITION! The fact that their commission is 25-45% highlights how over priced the MLM products are too, all that fat was being dispersed to upline previously.

“Building a team” is a funny way to say, “manipulating people into helping me make money without properly compensating them for their work or providing any kind of work benefits”.

The entire reason we have an issue with MLMs is because it sells a dream to vulnerable people like moms who want to earn an income while staying at home with their kids. As you can see, that income is unreliable even if you do earn something substantial. My heart goes out to anyone who will be left financially vulnerable. I don't want anyone to go without food, housing, healthcare, etc. That's why we advocate AGAINST these companies and FOR better pay, benefits, and social support.

This should be a wakeup call for these MLMers that they're not 'running their own business' when it can get snatched out from underneath them.

This is HILARIOUS! The same people who were saying, "This is not a recruitment-based company. It's not an MLM. We sell *insert hyped-up, mass-production quality, useless product here* and change people's lives!" are now fanning themselves screaming, "WHY WON'T YOU THINK OF THE POOR MOTHERS!!!". And the only thing that changes is that the recruitment-based earnings are at an end and the product itself has become more profitable. those MLMs in the beauty scene these days don't even have decent looking product. i mostly think it's really sad, all those people wrapped up in a such a shady scheme in moments of weakness and vulnerability. it's honestly shameful. moreover, i do think all those people losing their job is terrible, and i hope they can come back up stronger.

Slow your roll, ponytail girl. I got laid off after almost 3 years and literally got ONE HOUR’s notice before I was officially unemployed. I’m a dog/cat mom, and a wife, but was the primary breadwinner of the house. What I wouldn’t give to have been given 3 months’ notice. Also what do you mean “we got you”? Are you gonna find all these people new jobs? Give them a universal basic income? Cultish, much.

It's sad that people are going to have their income affected without much notice, but in an MLM structure, about 99%(+) of them were *always* going to hit a wall and get financially screwed over by the structure at some point anyway. In this case, it's just happening to them simultaneously (with a chance to convert to a new structure), rather being screwed over financially happening to different individuals at different times. Arguably this is the best way I have ever heard of someone getting out of an MLM - everyone else who I've ever heard of coming out of an MLM has done so in debt.

Idk how in the year of 2024 there are still people who buy into the whole MLM thing. I maybe understand older people who grew up doing it but when my younger friends make that jump I question their critical thinking skills😅 There is just so much information out there to prove they generally don’t work like they say they do , it is baffling that people don’t do even a bit of research before signing up to sell something.

I had to unfriend a girl on Facebook because she just kept jumping from MLM to MLM and I kept hoping she would realize she's not making money but it was just frustrating to watch and have to interact with.

They only have to pay 1 person that 45% commission to not be lying about their new structure. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.

It kind of grosses me out how transactional some people are. If I’m recommending a product to a family member or friend or even a stranger I don’t necessarily need a kick back and I don’t think that’s how the world needs to work. I don’t need to make a dollar for every word that comes out of my mouth.

I felt the last woman was just dying to say "just let us know which MLM company you're moving to now and we'll get everyone involved in that one". Kerching! Of course people are going to lose out if they have been at the top of that pyramid. They had to work to get people sucked in. Then they can sit back a little and still have the cash flowing in. Will they carry on the new way or just move to another MLM? Which ever is the quickest to bring in the bucks, never mind who you hurt, would be my guess.

I absolutely hate the "girly", "sis", "boss babe/ girl boss" crap. If you're female and a boss, you're just a boss! It doesn't need to be diminished by noting your female. This always makes me lose a bit of respect for those women.

My mom was a victim of Avon and my bro and I were young enough we didn't realize it was a MLM. She was also a hoarder so she would buy products that didn't sell and she just kept them. Learning about MLMs now i feel so bad for her.

MLMs are a cancer on the face of society. I feel for people who have been caught up in one, but at the same time, I think moving away from an MLM model to an affiliate model is a much better thing.

Do you ever notice a correlation between MLM sellers and an emotional story connected to the product? Not to discredit their experience, but that in itself feels manipulative and that’s the core of MLM marketing structure. Selling a dream.

It’s hard to have sympathy for people whose income is dependent on recruiting others into a cult.

MLMs are certainly such a high control group but I don’t get why these women are shocked by anti mlm people reacting the way they do! Like so many MLM huns are out there essentially making fun of you for staying “poor” and not taking this “opportunity” to be a “boss babe” like…if you were extremely demanding and rude to these people…they’re not gonna be empathetic

This is exactly what The Body Shop did recently when they got rid of their ‘the body shop at home’ section. However the commission I understand is nowhere near this level. I believe many more MLM’s will go this way for sure 👌

Not this particular company, but my Mom still purchases Mary Kay products. I have tried and tried to explain to her how, as an MLM company, it is a pyramid scheme scam, but she keeps insisting that she is "supporting her friend" by buying the products from her (when in reality it isn't quite like that with the scam company)

Monthly sales and the commission they earn are: 0 - $999.99.= 25% $1000 - $2499.99 = 30% $2500 - $4999.99 = 35% $5000 - $14,999.99 = 40% $15,000+ = 45% That's a heck of a lot of sales, and, if you live in CA, you need to make even more sales at each commission percentage.

But wait - aren’t they “small business owners”? So they can just say no to the change then right? They give us constant spiels about ‘being their own boss’, and being able to work/not work when and where you want and how fabulous that is! How they could never work within a traditional role again. And then one day they wake up to an email telling them that everything they had been working for within their “small business” is now essentially completely worthless. Source of income lost in an instant. I hate MLMs but this is awful, most people who join them are probably decent people being almost brainwashed in a sense by the higher ups.

My best friend of 14 years has been involved with some MLM businesses. As much as i love her, I just could not support the business. Can't stand MLMs

I recall contacting a woman who was selling his stuff. My first question was asking if this was a MLM type of thing. She said it wasn’t, she was her own employer. I web searched for Seint and learned otherwise. When I asked why she lied, she got a bit feisty with me.

Robert lemme tell ya. This is all that my IG has been showing all week! So many girls I went to High-school with were in Seint and pretty high up as well. They have all been crying and upset over this change. But the plot twist is- most of them have already jumped into a new MLM!!

I'm not a doctor but I don't think your uterus have anything to do with makeup. I mean if they also removed her ovaries and sent her into menopause I guess her skin type may have changed but that's about it. She lost me at parasite cleanse though 🤦🏻‍♀ Also I had to block the word Sient on IG because of how annoying the reps were. They definitely rank high on the MLM cult status list.

I’d be willing to bet a lot of money that that last lady with the “rah rah let’s all Unite” message is in another mlm. When this stuff happens they all put out messages like this and virtue signal. But eventually it’s obvious that they know many people in that company are going to jump ship and be looking to join a new company. It’s always important to consider the source and the motivation of these people.

I live in a poor area of the U.S. and know a lot of women who sell Seint. Ironically, they're the same women that almost never wear makeup.

Yes anytime someone who loses their primary source of income, especially with a family to support, is tragic. I feel like the people who are upset about this change are missing the point. This is one of the predatory ideas that MLMs ingrain in them. Like the thing you’re upset about losing, which is absolutely up to the business to change their model at any time, is one of the things people against MLMs have been telling you is so dangerous to rely on. I truly feel there are other opportunities out there that the people who built up their down line can put those skills towards that has more job security. Especially with so many more remote jobs or online work opening up the last few years.

That means: 1) All the people in those “teams” are now pitted against each other. 2) We’re going to be seeing a flood of undisclosed ads from Seint “affiliates” on TikTok. 3) Regarding the “it’s like any other affiliate link video” that in and of itself is troublesome. For me personally, as soon as I see ANYTHING that says “Amazon haul” or like 90% of the items they mentioned are affiliate links, I immediately disregard whatever the person says because I feel like I’m being sold to. That’s why I stopped watching one particular creator on RU-vid-Almost the entirety of her videos became “Amazon Haul” videos with new favorites every 2 weeks or every month. Same thing with Mikayla on TikTok. I REFUSE to watch her, anyone who stitches her or any brand that features her on their ads.

It's bittersweet because anti-MLMers have only been trying to warn these people that they don't own their own businesses and it can be ripped from you at any second.

MLM reps erroneously used their sales(aka recruiting) tactics as "affiliate marketing" for YEARS , and now this is actually the case. So yeah, "should" be "fine" for them 😅 since they're now affiliates

This was hard to watch, not because of Robert but hearing the language MLMs and those involved in them use just really gives me the ick. I really hope that anyone negatively impacted by this change gets the chance to build themselves back up again (just even more hope it's not with another MLM) but they're actually being treated better than a regular employee would be. They've been given multiple months notice to find an alternative source of income if needed, most people are lucky to get 2 weeks.

The last lady is the worst: the kind of toxic positive mentality that shames people that give up MLMs to explore other sources of income and call them "quitters" or "not strong enough".

When a rep for an MLM buys inventory, the MLM has made its money. So, if I buy leggings for $14 (to sell for $25), and the MLM only spent $3 making those leggings, the MLM profits $11, while I STILL have to work on my profit by selling the leggings at full price. What Seint is saying in this announcement is that they are no longer wanting to profit just from their sellers buying from them. They are trying to make more money from their sellers in addition to when their sellers buy their inventory. Say the sellers buy a product for $14 from Seint. Seint only spent $3 to make that product, so now Seint made $11 from that seller. HOWEVER with this "affiliate model," a seller buys from Seint $14 to sell it for $25. Seint will only give them 20% of that sale! So, Seint, rather than already making $11 from a sale to a seller, they are going to take 80% of the seller's profit of $14!!! (The seller's "commission" is 20%.) So, instead of the seller pocketing $14, they'll only pocket $2.80! I hope I'm wrong, but from their announcement, this seems to be the case. The sellers are at the loosing end of this deal.

I noticed a few MLM companies switching their MLM model off and changing to a model that just pays out for product sales. Obviously trying to avoid getting shut down by the FTC. The majority of MLM customers are the reps themselves so that is why they focus so much on recruiting. The more people below you, the more money you make off whoever they recruit. What the companies and top reps don’t want you to know is that the MLM model is majorly flawed. If you recruit 5 people and those people recruit 5 people each and so on, you can only make 13 cycles of that before you exceed the population of earth.

The commission looks good until you look at the requirements. To make 45% you have to sell a whopping 15,000 PER MONTH!!!! This is from @Jenluvs video on this subject.

There’s a book called “Hey, Hun: Sales, Sisterhood, Supremacy, and the Other Lies Behind Multilevel Marketing” by Emily Lynn Paulson who is an ex MLM person (Rodan & Fields). Very interesting and worth the read.
