That judo base that he incorporated to world class sambo is insane. But Alex is an elite athlete. I don't know if he will be to handle that speed. Alex will also have more power behind his punches. Great fight

I couldn’t agree more. People talk so much about the size (and strength) difference between Volk and Islam, like he’s just going to power through him with a double leg in the middle of the octagon. But Islams biggest advantage is the variety of takedowns and how smooth and technical he is with them. I think he’s going to clinch with Volk and trip him with different throws, and even if Alex is fast enough to stand up quickly, Islam has an endless repertory of trips and throws to end up on top of him again. After watching that Ortega fight again and how he used his legs to TD Alex and how close he was to finishing him, I really find very hard he can survive Islams ground game. Unless there’s a huge difference in striking I think it’s going to be a long night for Volk.

I believe the same goes with Charles Olivera. His Jujitsu is strong and upon a rematch watching some of Islam’s holes in his game in recent fights will give him a better insight on how to fight him! Let’s go UFC! Make it happen!

no-one idolizing anybody here - they are simply recognizing Makhachev’s mastery of grappling. Of course he isn’t perfect and Volk gave him a hard fight but Makhachev also took him down several times. Your comment just comes across as a salty hater.

You know, I’ve been really disappointed with Jones’ behavior and I think he’s wasted his talent which is crazy to say considering he’s top 3 all-time. However, that being said, I really hope he gets it done next Saturday and I hope he can change and grow as a person. I’ll never root for someone’s downfall and I hope he turns things around and makes a strong comeback after so much time off.

My friend, I can tell by your screen name that you are a fan of Sambo. Please don’t be offended. It’s important to understand the difference between an act and a style. Sambo is a style of wrestling, just as Judo and Jiu Jitsu are... To wrestle is to, “take part in a fight, either as sport or in earnest, that involves grappling with one's opponent and trying to throw or force them to the ground.” I can wrestle with my opponent in a Sambo match, just as you can wrestle with the decision to post a comment on RU-vid. I hope that makes sense.

Combat Sambo : Uses striking ( standing / Clinch / ground ) Uses Grappling ( Takedowns / Pins / Subs ) Reference Combat Sambo when possible 🙏. Show is great my brother I will subscribe. Side note: I know a lot of Combat Sambo Terminology is not wise known. That Knee to throw combo islam hit on oliveria is text book Combat Sambo. In judo it’s - Harai goshi In Combat Sambo it’s referred to as - Outside Podhvat 💪😉
