I love these easier projects using minimal lumber - you show how anyone can make the most of what they’ve got to work with and still get fantastic results. Can’t wait to see what’s next man

Another great project Josh. Would a white finish have looked better to match with the other furniture or is it being located elsewhere?

Yeah, my parents thought the same thing so I did ended up painting it white.

I love this 2x6 series of videos. With lumber being so expensive it's nice to see a dude making nice stuff from a single piece of wood. Also great that you're not using a $1500 sawstop cabinet saw like the rest of RU-vid. I've almost bought that Dewalt saw a number of times in the past and I think your results just pushed me enough to pull the trigger. Will be a nice upgrade from my homemade saw.

What are the measurements for which you make the cut outs in the leg for the shelves?

Wow! I really need to begin investing in 2x6 lumber now! Great stuff, young man!

Are you the dude from the crafty couple?? I recognized the voice immediately! Love how you made this. I’ve been looking to buy one for awhile now but after watching your video and a couple other good ones, I think I can do this with the assistance of my diy bff. I’m not a diy girl but I’ll give it a hell of an effort to avoid paying $150-$200. Now......to get the saws and stuff... 🤔 I’m learning new things watching RU-vid, it’s so much better if you can do things yourself.

So I'm making a ladder shelf and was wondering how you would measure to make sure each shelf would touch the wall, when putting together. Thabk you

Do you make that night stand in the background? That would be a good video in itself.

No way! I'm working on the EXACT same project right now! I like your design better.... Wish I hadn't cut parts already! Mine has front and back legs that meet on the top. So i don't have enough out of my 2x6 for the shelves. I think I'll do pallet wood. I was trying to work out how to get the dados parallel to the ground. Was your table saw mitre gage on 15* for the dados as well?
@JoshWrightWoodworking
@JoshWrightWoodworking 3 года назад
Nice! I actually like those front and back leg style ladder shelves better but like you said, not enough material in a 2x6 for me to do it. And yes, I cut the dados at the same angle as I cut the legs, 15°

What angle did you cut the leg joints at? Love your channel, Josh.

Sorry this took so long, just saw your comment. Its a weird number but its just how the math worked out, 14.5°

How wide did you do the shelves?

What spacing did you use for the shelves?
@JoshWrightWoodworking
@JoshWrightWoodworking 3 года назад
Each shelf was a different to allow different size items. The distance from the floor to the bottom shelf is 10.5", the distance from the bottom shelf to the shelf above it is 14.5", the distance from that shelf to the next shelf is 13", and the distance from that shelf to the top shelf is 11"
