Making a 1982 Camaro Z28 look NEW again! (sitting for 15 years) : LS swapped 3rd gen project 

I’m no painter but I’ve picked up some things from my dad, and one big problem that could make your paint jobs much better is stopping at body lines, not in the middle of the panel. On the same line as that, don’t do short quick strokes on a place you may have slightly missed, go back over it fully again. lastly, please don’t tilt your gun, there are some places where it is needed, but if it is a long fairly straight panel, walk slowly till the end of the panel keeping the gun straight with the body line

I had that exact car in my college days 1986-1990. Mine had the Lg4, fiberglass hood, dark blue with silver ground effects and Lear Siegler interior. Sold it in 1991. Currently I have an 85 Ls1 swapped iroc. Great Job!

Thank you for putting the stripes back on this car. NOBODY does this anymore! Also the vents on the front ground effect need to be sprayed black to be put back to factory spec. Great video!

Looks great! I just paid good money for a hotrod shop to paint my 84 C10 and thie paint jobs far superior...working on my 3rd gen camaro as we speak, almost have all the epoxy primer done then ontp 2K

Really hood job with basic guns what white paint did you use?? Im gonna spray my 91 rs converible after i put a 5 speed in it

I just bought an 82 "Z28" that is supposed to be "Completely Original" but somethings off about it, The VIN checks out and it's been registered every year since new, but there's no paint on the ground effects, there's no spoiler and no sign on the trunk or quarters that there ever was one, there's no ram air slots on the hood, I've run a Car Fax plus had a buddy at my local Chevy Dealership and both come back clean..... could this have been a Special/Copo order car with a regular hood, unpainted ground effects and spoiler delete? I don;t know much detail about the 3rd gen Camaros, I'm a 2nd gen guy but being a teen in the mid 80's an 80's Z28 is one of my bucket list carsI was going to do a 80's hot rod build on it but if it was a special order car I'll do it 100% original.

Did you use a purple spray gun from Harbor Freight?

Sick job. How much would a job like this cost?

Now begins "BUFFING/POLISHING"!! You know.. The "FUN STUFF"!!! LOL.. Wet sanding and polishing is about as tedious as priming and leveling etc.

Don't mean to knock you guys however, please consider looking at the web on how to spray paint on a car. I was literally screaming at you as you were spraying little strokes across long panels. Also your gun didn't have enough spray pattern or enough pressure. I'm really surprised it turned out as good as it did. Maybe you'll take advice or not. Good luck.
