Making a 5 yard kilt for myself, part one 

I've been putting in 12- and 14-hour days this last week, so I decided to treat myself by making a kilt for myself from a 5-yard piece of cloth that was left over from a previous commission. (As I recall, I was trying to talk the client into having a shoulder-plaid to match his kilt, or maybe a pair of trews - I forget which. Maybe I just liked the sett and palette and wanted some for myself! )
I'm going to keep track of my hours here as I /might/ want to add these 'small kilts' to my product line, and I'm going to experiment/invent some new ways to make box-pleats.
