Thank you again for showing us what's new and exciting. It would have been cool to present the style and formatting, but we'll have to try it on our own indeed. I am still hoping I'll get some free time to actually do a proper 3D rendered interface for my HA .. 😊 but I guess this would be the next best thing, to have more controls and better display. Very cool to see that template idea - curious how deep we can go without having to create helpers for them. Not scared to have the YAML editor used 💪, and bugs are expected for such a bold new idea. The fast typing bug has been noticed on many other cards, not just this one. I got to see it as 'normal'. Amazing goose light 😂
Thank you!!! It's hard (for me) to keep things short. That's also why I sometimes skip stuff. BTW - if you have Quest, did you try HA in Oculus Quest or something similar :D It's fun.
@@BeardedTinker woah that sounds like 100 levels over what my free time currently allows. But I'll probably dream one day about doing that 🤣🙏🏼 thank you. You presented it exactly as needed, don't change a thing
Hi! Today I discovered "Minimalistic Area Card". Much like this card, but very simple to use. I prefer it, but that's a question of taste, I suppose. But maybe you can put it on your list of future reviews.
Thank you for the information. While I wouldn't call it beautiful, it definitely seems functional and useful. Room cards is something fundamentally missing in HA, in my opinion. I'm currently using Minimalist UI Room Cards, but I'll try this one!
Another great video and I love the layout of your cards. I have made some of my own and used some of yours. I particulary liked the one you did for the printer in the loft using the glance but I wanted to alter it a bit so the icon mdi:water change colors depending on the levels but try as I might I do not seem to be able to make it so and was wondering if you knew how I could do it😄
This could be great option for room specific subview cards for 4” wall display like NS Panel pro. I know it’s not that fancy than LCARS ui but could have better WAF
These Zone / Area cards look to be what is currently missing from Home Assistants official area functionality. This makes it really easy to make a good looking, minimalistic Dashboard, without losing functionality.
Exactly. It would be awesome to have those already in HA with the UI editor instead of current. But then, next HA release is bringing some really nice UI improvements (not zones though)
This looks really good. Is it possible to have these room cards in a "swipe-card" configuration?

I've noticed from your video that your mini media player card is flickering, from what I've read in the room-card repository there are no solution but I wonder if you ever got that fixed? Thanks
Hi, thank you for the informative video! :) One question I have: Is it somehow possible to change the small icons to be toggleable by themselves? Meaning, that they dont't open a separate popup window, but instead just toggle the light / power socket and maybe switch their icon to be colored yellow / grey?
It was totally my mistake. I had a typo "ta*b*_actions" which lead to the popup behavior. :D Now it works, thank you! :) Do you have an idea how it could be possible to change the icon when the light was toggled to indicate if the light is on or off?
The github repo for room-card was just marked as a readonly archive but there's no mention of why it was shut down. Does anyone know what's behind that, is there something that replaces it better or did the author just get tired of it?
There were no updates last few months (from June I think) - my guess is author doesn't have free time to maintain it. Also, there was one long open issue with card flickering, that may be the other reason.
Did you maybe try this one? type: custom:room-card title: Template Style entity: switch.entity_switch styles: template: > if (entity.state == 'off') return 'background-image: url(some url to a picture)'; else return 'background-image: url(some url to a picture)';
I've just added in cards: section, mushroom-cover card like this: - type: custom:mushroom-cover-card entity: cover.zita_curtain And it allows to control any supporter cover (blinds, rollers etc) from Room card.
