How do you go about washing and prepping your bald cap for re-use? I've never made one of these myself before and don't know the first thing about bald cap maintenance!
@@eveastv770 I abandoned the idea sorry Couldn’t find a way to do it without buying a ficus elastica and then waiting 6 years I had so many ideas, use the recipes for latex substitute that are available on RU-vid, raise a ficus elastica, raise a garden of milkweed hoping to boil the latex out of them, melt some latex gloves and thin the liquid product with ammonia and water Every solution had its own problem
Hi there! As long as you wash it thoroughly, disinfect and dry it well, you actually can reuse it. I do that for myself sometimes. But that is probably only appropriate for self use. :D Hope this helps!
Hey there! I've not tried using butter before. I'm not sure if it would affect the latex structure. Also, butter wouldn't be great for storage so if you plan to make the bald cap but not use it right away, the butter could oxidise and turn rancid. Hope this helps!
This is really great but for me there's a personal problem on the technique that's quite embarrassing I have a big head If you have any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it thank you
Hey there! Aww don't be embarass! Hmm, that's quite a pickle. Maybe you can try blowing up the balloon to a larger size that would better match the size that you are looking for. Alternatively, I think you could try sourcing out for balloons that has a larger capacity if the typical balloon size doesn't work. That way, it can be blown up to a larger size as compared to regular balloons. I hope this helps! Good luck! :D
Buy the punch balloons ( 2 in pack, kid part section in DG) blow up to the size of your head. There way bigger but u can blow it up as small as a regular balloon or as big as a exercise ball. Lol when u get the size correct ( u can measure your head ) tie it tightly before apply the latex to the balloon.
I've not tried that but I don't think that's a good idea because the flour might react with the vaseline and become pasty because of the gluten and the starch. Similar to mixing oil with flour to create the doughy texture.
