Thanks a lot for putting up this video. Beiing myself a student of Bansuri, I always wondered how a bansuri is made. Now I am eagerly waiting for the next part of this vedio. Please upload as soon as possible. Thanks again
@pritlee You can download a tuner from w w w1.ocn.ne.jp/~tuner/tuner_e.html I found this useful in getting the right pitch for each hole This way you can test if each note plays at the right pitch.
Namaste Sir I'd highly appreciate if you or anyone can answer my questions.... When I play bansuri, the PA, DHA. NI, SA sounds different than the SA RE GA MA, as if I am using a different scale bansuri all togather.....does it mean it is not properly tuned? I am still learning, I bought the bansuri from a street vendor in India, I live in UK so cant get one from here, people selling one online are way to expensive in my opinion...any help would be most helpful..thanks
@pritlee hi pritlee, did you get the flutes from ramashish??? I used to learn flute when I was in India from my flute teacher who used to highly recommend Ramashish's flutes, just wanted to know your opinion on them as I am planning to buy a set in the near future...
people, i have just bought two bansuris from this bansuri maker Ramashish Singh, I will get them in couple of weeks, G and E scale...will let you know once I get them how they are .....
He did not gave any information. not bore and finger hole diameter. how far stopper should be from blow hole. what is diameter of blow hole. finger hole spacing. all others measurements are important. thanks for helping.
jasbir pelia Jasbir, If you search google for flutomat you will get a program which calculates for you the size and spacing of holes required depending on the key of flute that you require. Stopper should be equal to the dimension of the internal diameter of the flute from the center of blowhole. The internal diameter of the flute should be approx 0ne 23rd of the length of the flute for best results. The blow hole diameter as a starting point can be 0.5-0.6 of internal diameter of flute. Hope that helps.
@pritlee Dear friend, it does sound like it is out of tune. Though you can still learn a lot on it. Do you have a teacher? I don't know where you are in the UK but if you can get down to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (see bhavan dot net) the flute teachers there will be able to help you find a good flute. Keep practicing and good luck!
I am looking for a formula bansuri flute hole spacing on the web but none , I beg assistance may anyone know how to determine the distance of the hole flute , i am an Indonesian people who liked the bansuri flute
I have made flutes from pvc and abs at which have been in good tune, bamboo is not available where i live. To do this i have used the flute hole calculator from 11wall-west.com/~ph_kosel/flutomat.html or search for flutomat on google. This will calculate the hole sizes and positions for any size of flute. You will need to know the inside diameter and thickness of tube and what key you want for the flute. The Key is the note played with all six holes closed. It will then calculate the hole sizes and distances from the end of tube. You can change that sizes of the holes to change the distances between holes to suit your hand. It is best not to have the holes too close togather or too far apart, depending on size of your hands , you can experiment by typing in different hole sizes. You can download a tuner from www1.ocn.ne.jp/~tuner/tuner_e.html or here www.shaku6.com/tuner_e.html I found this useful in getting the right pitch for each hole It is best to drill the holes slightly too small at first and then increased the hole size by sanding until the correct pitch was obtained. You will probably need to make a few flutes until you get the perfect one to suit your hands. I hope this helps.

Atenciosamente
Dear Pankaj, I am not the person in the video making the flutes, i only posted the videos The actual flute maker is Ram Ashish Singh Address - SK-160C, Sec-66, Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India-201309 Phone No. : 9810186987 Email:ramashish.flute@gmail.com
I use these percentage values www.markshep.com/flute/Holes.html Start with a small hole and gradually increase the diameter until the correct pitch is reached. Or Try using the flute hole calculator from 11wall-west.com/~ph_kosel/flutomat.html or search for flutomat on google. This will calculate the hole sizes and positions for any size of flute.
