Diggin in the ECM crates and an overpriced drum break record! Always Rugged Records 2022 peace Chief Rugged produced with: E-Mu SP-1200, AKAI S950, loads of vinyl records
Hey man how do you record your tracks from the SP . I just pulled mine out after some years but now have new equipment. Trying to introduce the SP to my new Daw but struggling
Props! Love the SP1200. Way too less SP1200 content on RU-vid. Probably need to record some videos myself though. Would anyone be interested in watching? Got a recent SP1200 track uploaded feat. El Da Sensei (Artifacts). Need to get my lazy a## up and record some videos too i guess.. PEACE
Was just watching your other SP1200 videos the other day. So inspiring and lovely to see you keeping at perfecting your craft. Great stuff as always, keep at it king 👑
My SP-1200 comes in tomorrow and then you post this 😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Chief what mixer do you recommend for the SP? I’ve been looking through a few but I’m just not sure.
hell yeah have fun! it depends on your workflow, for me I need a mixer with at least 12 channels so I can handle all the outputs from the SP, 1-2 from the S950, 2 turntables. I’ve only been using Tascam mixers so far and I quite like them. Can’t say much about other brands. To record the group out from the Tascam into ableton I use the Focusrite Clarett+ 8pre.
My Brother Showed me how to use that SP N the 950 setup jus like that back n 99... Then my Dad n step Mom got me a mpc 2000xl in 2001... That joint was jus sitting there cuz I didnt kno how to use it till my Dud3 Noah showed me a few things n that was it... Ive got mpc1 today
Your drums sound so crazy bro. The kick goes so hard. Rounded and fat. Is it the 12bit alone that is doing that? Or the akai is playing a role innit? Like, i get it, it's a speeded up breakloop that you decelerate for sampling time purposes. But appart from that you don't seem to process it much. Maybe it is the editing of the video and you don't show us something, but it seems like it sounds HUGE right off bat with little to no compression. It's just wow.
thanks man! I do have a hybrid setup with my tascam mixer, outboard gear like compressor, reverbs and plugins in ableton. I recorded the individual channels into ableton while filming and mixed the audio signal from the camera with the ableton recording.
Nice. If you're open for musicproduction suggestions... Will you send the outputs of the turntable mixer through the Tascam console to eq each record's music before sampling into the sp 1200? Then use SP 1200's 8 output channels for each sample in the Tascam for further eqing. I feel this method creates more frequency space for each sample which allows more control for a great mix.
