I know so many great mechanics like Nate but the thing I really like about Nate he’s always happy. All the great mechanics. I know they are so miserable lol.
LMAO, Nate looking the truck over, checking brakes, frame, suspension, engine and tranny for oil leaks. Tells Eric all is good but the pto and plow lift aren't working. Eric: "but it's so shinney Nate". I couldn't stop laughing. I guess with this purchase we'll be looking at that headliner in pick-up for quite a while!
Ha Eric, one more thing when your looking at something. Don't let them pre-start the engine. You want to hear it fire up cold. You can have Injectors going out that it runs fine after it gets warmed up. And then ALWAYS let the engine get hot, go drive it. It works the same way as for the injection system, if its leaking, it won't start after it gets hot. Hope that helps some day. Good luck man
Eric, don’t get too big and forget about your roots. Ryan seems like he has really been there for you. I’m all about ownership of your own business, but try not to step on anyone’s toes. I wish you the best of luck in 2024 and so much more. I am very envious of you and your relationship with the people around you. Just remember the people around you that have inspired you you to want more. Live is short, and the Best of Luck to You.
Get ready for some huge expenses!! You gotta keep that truck moving to make money, if it's sitting you're losing money & old trucks (especially plow trucks) break down a lot. The maintenance, insurance, fuel & drivers are constant expenses that keep going all year long even when your season ends, so prepare yourself for A LOT of $$ to be dumped into it.
If you don't plant on plowing with it, spend the time to remove all the plow stuff. Hardware, wiring and controls. Removing the front plow mount will help with weight. The lighter the truck, the more you can haul in the bed legally. And with the electrical, if you don't use it it'll eventually cause problems. Just my 2 cents
Looks like a clean dump truck! Nate the great seems like he knows his stuff. As a mechanic for years myself i really liked seeing that he cares about the little details like the hose and wire routing. Big props Nate! Finding a good diesel mechanic is hard these days! Hes worth whatever hes charging im sure! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK E! Looking forward to more videos!
Just remember when taking your driving test and pre trip, your slack adjuster travels no more than 1 inch, do your air brake test and check oil literally, power steering and coolant, and when doing pretrip say what your checking so he knows what you’re looking for and last put seat belt on before you start truck! Some examiners are real strict with that! My husband been driving for 30 years and he tells me this stuff out of the blue 🙄🙄🙄
Eric that looks like it is the standard Government model that most states, counties and cities buy for their fleets. The agency I worked 32 years for finally started buying the dump trucks with automatics because it was practically impossible to find people that could drive stick shifts. The amount of money we spent at Fleet Services for new clutches was incredible.
I remember me and my buddy buying our first dump truck. We probably looked at 10 trucks before purchasing our first one. We got a used one just like you. Starting off our own business. We passed on so many because they looked good in the pictures but when you go look at them, always make sure you bring a Mechanic that’s just common sense. You realize there are so many problems. You blow a transmission in a truck that goes your profit for a month or two
Eric, it's a good idea to add the links to all of your social media accounts in the description area under the vid here! That will ensure folks seeing the correct accounts! Happy New Year man!!
Hope they can get the pto working and you buy it , it looks like a good work truck , with the dump box and everything painted it should be a nice looking truck and be ready for next concrete season 👍🇺🇸
Get that CDL Eric! I got mines june 2023 and don’t regret getting it! You won’t believe the opportunities you will get having it. It will definitely help for your business but most importantly the future! Best of luck bro. Pura raza 🇲🇽🇲🇽 sac, Ca
Morning Eric and Nate, you sure got the right guy too go with you to check out this truck, but anyways congratulations on your new buy for the company Eric happy new year to you and your family also you too Nate🎉🍾
You couldn't have taken a better guy than Nate with you Eric . That little ten yarder is nice . As Nate said, you just get a needle gun and primer and go to town . That's what we call around here a cream puff . :)
Truly a Diamond in the rough. Hard to find such a well maintained older vehicle like this one. Congrats !! Nate was even amazed to not be able to find much wrong with it.
Congrats on the purchase man, I was wrong about it haha. Gotta do some lives now so we can raise money for that skid steer! I’d loan you mine but that’s a hell of a drive!
Needs a mud flap. Probably DOT require it. Only thing i saw lol. Defintely a step up for Eric. Hell with a paint job could be another victory truck if eric gets in over head lol.
I might need Nathan to put another hemi in my RAM, or refresh the one that's in her now. They're a car dealer, they should have tools on-site. Nate could've made some quick money. Well, congrats on the truck, if you bought it.
Thinking the same thing but he's got other stuff laying around he could likely sell to get one otherwise he could keep renting for a few hundo per job and be more efficient. Let's trips / loads to the dump
