Hmmmm Custom lures, Custom rods Its been a pleasure watching you evolve yourself into a custom lifestyle...By the way as usual great video subject mate. Regards B.J.
It's 1.35am here boys...I am up still tying jigs for redfin which i believe you call yellow perch...Best eating fish in freshwater! Custom Rods well i smiled when i saw the title Adam i thought yep he has the custom bug now...lol...I myself have a few Powellco rods i imported 13yrs ago that sit in my rod locker with a few custom rods included as well. I sourced a few blanks from mud hole in Texas a few yrs back and had them built... My last custom rods made were the hexagonal blanks made and tied by Cape Fear in Australia then distributed in the U.S. The Cape Fear company ended up in South Carolina in a shed somewhere mothballed...Now if you want a true custom rod with guts look for cape fear blanks.
Man, I'm so happy for you with your new rod! That must feel good. Loved the build and the excitement followed by a beautiful day on the water with fish catches. Well done as always. Eric
Love your custom work, use what works for you. My chatterbait rod is an e glass deep crank stick. 50 lb braid . Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out i live in Florida where the monsters live. My homemade chatterbait has the odd ability to slide over mats like a frog and drop into a hole or off the edge and get crushed . I use 6" and 8" swimbaits on the back. I know they sometimes overpower the chatterbait but im after beast.
I love how he did the marbling between the split grips. That will help with the overall balance of the rod. It is tempting to put it forward of the foregrip to make it the focal point of the wrap, but between the split grips is the perfect spot. The guide wraps were spot on with minimal wraps with a touch of metallic. I have steered away from those silicone skirts but that hair clip trick is going to change that.
Gives the fish a great new profile to look at... wait till you see it in the water 💥💥! Bummer about the kayak... I think that was my last go for the year as well, its gettin' cold now!
***HEADS UP*** Austin created a SDG Discount on his website! This is NOT an affiliate code, I don’t get a cut of the profit or anything, it’s just a discount he created for the SDG family - super cool! Head over to www.freshwatercustomrods.com/ and use code "SDG10" to get 10% off your order! Woohoo!
I like to re hidro dip my fishing 🎣 pole's for the cool factor people are like what is that and brand. They amazed with it and when they find out it the same pole as their pole. Love making a custom pole from my dad showed me how. Just fun to do and good way to stay off the phone 📱 I've been trying out the pole raps like the Chevron 🔰 pattern like this I want to try out. I want to make my own lures. 🧐 I have the lee melt pot for lead ⁉️
Got a quick question if you know. could I use the Queen Tackle Switch Blade to sell without using split rig or do I need to use the split rig to the blade to sell? Thanks.
While I can’t say for sure, I believe the Switch Blade is, indeed, a valid “get around”. Given Zman’s tenacity to defend their patents, that blade would have long-since been pulled from the market if it violated anything. My guess is… since it’s removable (vs permanently attached directly to the head) it isn’t considered a patent infringement. I know of at least one other seller that uses them for his builds and hasn’t had a problem.
Hey man, I “unlisted” a bunch of older videos for various reasons, that was likely one of them. Were you looking for something specific that I can help with here, answer a question maybe?
