That looks awesome!!!! Just put sandpaper on it and play ping pong instead of table tennis. Can you make one with titanium next?
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 10 месяцев назад
That is a great idea! I just have to get my hands on some titanium tho... But i might try one day!

So cool! I’ve been wondering if anyone ever made a carbon fiber paddle. I’m actually surprised it was heavy though!
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 Год назад
Yeah it's heavy because it's not the right way to do it, i tried like that, but to make it light, you should use a styrofoam or balsa blank, and put carbon fiber cloth over it, then resin etc etc...

Andrea Sir thanks I can totes understanding breaking and moduling Carbon fibre material it's like a glazier went to the Ivanhoe too much over The weekend lol.....? But you didn't express the results blade vs blade Now wood can be flimsy as af the reason being due to environmental facts wiood will rot over time or change the Overall experience right? Was the carbon fibre paddle vs other more durable tact strong not so hollow less resistant shock??? What did you notice better @
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 Год назад
Well the carbon fiber was a faster blade, but also way heavier, so pretty much useless like that, the best way to integrate carbon fiber in a blade is to use one or two layers in a wooden sandwich
@alimribet
@alimribet 2 года назад
nice... what about the feel control 😁
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 2 года назад
Well the blade wasn't so bad actually... But it was so heavy... And we where trying to hold on to the rubbers that where peeling off, that i really haven't paid attention to the feeling🤣🤣

you probably use 2mm carbon fiber sheet...if use 1mm or 1.5 mm sheet,dont know availablety .may be it will lighter weght bat
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 2 года назад
It will be lighter but not thick enough... It would feel weird to use it so thin
@shannonwoodbury3030
@shannonwoodbury3030 Год назад
An interesting project... just don't try to enter an official ITTF tournament using this bat. Under the rules of the game, all blades must be at least 85% wood by thickness. You blade sadly - while well made - would never make it past the racquet control stage.
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 Год назад
Hehehe yes there's no problem about that... While been cool... It's actually useless being twice the weight of an actual blade...

the carbon fiber looks too thick/strong to be super light, it should be like a tennis racquet, very thin and hollow with the handle grips made of cork! nice looking product though.
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 2 года назад
Yeah, the right way to do it would be by making two halves then joining them together... But it's there's more work and tools\ materials involved, so I'll have to wait some time to try it the right way... But one day i might try!
@Sandysand701
@Sandysand701 2 года назад
@@AndreaFarina11 Yeah, I was thinking about making a slightly bigger and lighter bat, maybe 2 thin layers of carbon with a polystyrene middle, or filled with expanding foam
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 2 года назад
@@Sandysand701 we had the same idea! But I'm not sure how to make the sides match
@Sandysand701
@Sandysand701 2 года назад
What came to my mind, was to cut (about 5 mm) strip of carbon off the heavy/thick carbon, (making it the same shape as the paddle) then gluing the thin layers (with polystyrene in the middle) over the top, but then i thought, how about taking some 3 ply timber, drilling many holes in it, so as to remove most of the material, then glue the thin layers of carbon over that! hollowed
@AndreaFarina11
@AndreaFarina11 2 года назад
@@Sandysand701 that can work too, but i think that the better way to address the sides would be to make some strips of thin carbon fiber, epoxy them all around the blade, with a bit of overlap on the faces, then roughly shape the carbon fibre as the faces and epoxy those, this way when you trim it you'll be sure to have perfect sides
