I was given a set of alice in wonderland chess pieces,my first idea was to make a melting chessboard inspired by Salvador dali's melting clock,so that's the effect I tried to go for.
its made from walnut,maple and cherry and was a fun project to make
thank you for watching My videos are for entertainment only. Woodworking can be dangerous. The methods I use are my methods, and are not necessarily correct or safe! If in doubt, DON'T DO IT, it is best to learn more before you start. And always remember to read, understand and follow, all the manufacturers instructions that come with your tools. Always wear all necessary protection equipment, the safety in your workshop is your responsibility,
Be safe and have fun,happy making

Remember, this is a Salvador Dali chess board....it was set up perfectly. One of the coolest boards on RU-vid. Dali would have approved.

Setup is fine ;-) the drawers are on (left/right) sides of the chessboard! But as mentioned by Ed C It's Salvador Dali inspired chessboard! Great Video!

This is really just gorgeous, gorgeous work. I was wondering, how do you go from idea to finished product? Do the ideas just pop into your head and you go from there? Do you make detailed sketches with measurements, etc., or do you just wing-it? How much of your work is ad-libbed? It's always so spectacularly beautiful.
@sdmcustoms
@sdmcustoms 8 лет назад
+SmittenKitten thank you ,I usually have an idea of what I want it to look like and do a quick sketch with rough dimensions and then just work it out as I go ,there's alot of head scratching and figuring out edited out of the videos lol but I usually end up with them finished how I initially thought they would look ,thank you for watching

This touched on two of my favorite topics: art and chess. Play chess daily and happened to come across this video. Love the concept of making a chess board inspired by Dali's Melting Clock ...... See I have a degree in the Arts and MY favorite painter from the Surrealism era is Dali and Melting Clock I am in love with !!!! I must have a chess board just like this ..... So please reach out to me and let me know what has to happen to get a board such as this. .....
