i think you are doing the basket weave backwards. you should do that first then the edge stamping. the edge stamp is to hide the edge of the basket stamp. now having said that, it looks amazing. great work!!!!
Thank you for the advice! Honestly I think you’re right. I’ve actually done it that way in the past but I found starting the edging and then doing the basket stamp allows me to know where my edges of my basket stamp will go so I don’t have a rogue line (from a basket stamp) through my edging. Then I can go back and punch in the edging again if the basket stamp accidentally was over the top of the edging. I think either way works and I definitely appreciate the recommendation and comment!!!
Constructive tip: When making a Mexican loop (the keeper cut out of the skirt), punch a very small hole at the ends of each cut. This will prevent the leather from wanting to continue to tear as stress is put on the keeper over time…
