this is why i’ve been dreaming of going to fashion (arts) school since i was a child, and when people ask me what i want to become when i grow older i say “fashion designer” :)
Me, who can't fit in the princess-like dresses they sell, isn't allowed to use a sewing machine, nor can get any money for fabric: I'm just going to imagine I own these and they actually fit me.
Im afraid of using a sewing machine- Like-- its so damn fast what if it suddenly decides to give my finger a painful pierce? Do they even make those sewing machines where you can change the speed anymore-?
@@MischievousMoth so typically, they come with pedals (like a gas pedal on a car) so you can go as fast or as slow as you like, they also have a hand crank to go even slower on the machine. So there is nothing to be afraid of! :) I've been sewing for almost ten years on a machine and I've never once gotten stabbed by it!
@@MischievousMoth ehhh you do know you can adjust the speed right? especially modern sewing machines are alot safer and have more control. and when sewing you look at two things. your hand and the things you sew so yeah i have never been pierced by a sewing machine before 0_0
@@MischievousMoth Don't worry! I was SUPER anxious when I first started sewing with a sewing machine! Like I didn't touch it for a week after it came. When I started, I used old tee shirts to practice sewing straight lines. I kept sewing and sewing for like 2 hours each day, just straight lines over and over again. Then I started with a small project, an apron. It was easy and basic. Even though my apron ties suck, I still made it without fear because my fam was already impressed with what I was doing so far. ( Apron was for my sister who bakes, estatic to say they have choco stains!) So don't be afraid, I was never once pierced, and as long as you keep your finger in front of the presser foot you'll be fine. Also get a serger, you'll need it for seams if you want everything to be so much easier!
My maternal grandmother loved to sew and knit. She even made my mother's prom dress, based on the one my mom wanted, but couldn't get it as it was expensive. I applaud these peeps for making such beautiful outfits.
@Always Unlucky Nice. Could I ask Where did you bought the fabric? How many? Type of cloth for beginners? I was thinking on making dolls and their cloth, but here, where I live everything related to crafts is expensive and hard to get so I was thinking on buying leftovers from the shops.
@Always Unlucky Thank you very much! This info is ver useful for me and I really appreciate you have take of your time to answer me. I am really the noob of the noob. I was interested about it long ago but didn't investigate about it since I though I could only just crochet the cloth, but it would be good to work with other materials to enrich the work tho.
Great, now I want to make dresses. My friends are making dresses, and I'm... basically just watching my mom make a skirt for me, hopefully I can make the next one! We just can't screw this one up lol...
@Orca my mom can make quilts, but not clothes!! She couldn't end up making the skirt, it was too stressful for her, she was afraid she'd mess up. I need to just pick it up and finish it lol! I make purses, doll clothes, plushies, just not human clothes! Big sewing is tough for me, I do wayyy better on a tiny tiny scale!
Just for this I want to join tiktok! I really like sewing, and these videos are just a delight for my eyes. These dresses are so beautiful! This girl is so beautiful! I want to applaud 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love dressmaking! I recently got into it and I love it. I plan on selling all my dresses in all sorts of sizes and that fit all shapes just so everyone can wear what they like :)
Loved the frog dress it would be EXTRA cute if you made a frog hoodie to go with it like in the design it would be so cool, also can we buy these from you?
These dresses are so stunning and beautiful that I really want to try making one too. On the other hand I don't even have the space to make or keep them 🤣
my inspirations istg they inspired me to make clothing and a lot of the time it actually came out how I wanted too! I bought some mini plastic colored ducks to create some silly dress with the ducks dangled around it
I really loved the goth bride dress and the pumpkin dress. but i still LOVED all the dresses. And because of the i literally have started sketching dresses.
This makes me wanna learn how to use a sewing machine and start trying to learn how to make dresses. I want a ball gown but none would fit me if I could find any
if anyone is scared of learning to sew, remember that it’s not just u that’s scared. my mother is still stressed out using the machine and she’s been doing it for over 10 years, it’s ok! i know the common fear is the speed and finger piercing, but to answer the speed there are pedals on most sewing machines now and sometimes settings on the machine itself. then to answer the piercing, the best thing to do is to test sew on an old scrap to make sure it will not go faulty half way through and to take it slow! you can also make sure not to get ur fingers too close, also make sure that u can see the needle at all times :) these are just a few tips that work with our sewing machine and many more we have had, so hope they somewhat help!
