Turning my Portulacaria afra/dwarf jade into a bonsai & progress photos of growing it out. I will probably repot it into something wider and perhaps more round. I didn't like the pot I used for it. This is about the only Port I got which I have been taking cuttings from as well as a branch I removed in the video to be root and used as raft style that I am pretty excited for. Port actually grows to an incredibly massive succulent tree in the wild so it makes perfect sense to use them as bonsai.
In the summertime, while growing this tree out, I treat it like a tropical tree. It is potted in well-draining soil and slowly up-pot, sat in full sun, watered every day, and well-fertilized with a balanced slow-release granular.

Hey there. My name is Vic and thank you for joining me on my Bonsai journey. have a general love for all plants, but especially for Bonsai. I grow and train a lot of my trees from scratch, either from propagated cuttings or seeds so I don't have a lot of impressive trees, but I enjoy the process of growing them.
As you can tell from the name, l like anything Ficus/Fig and currently have over 40 different species of Ficus along with many varieties and cultivars in my collection and it is always growing. Most of my Bonsai trees are tropical. I enjoy working with them more than deciduous or evergreens-however, I do have deciduous and conifer evergeens in my collection as well as some Mediterranean species such as olive and mastic tree.
On this channel, I will share some of the work I do on my trees and the methods I use with them. We will also be doing a lot of pruning, styling, repot, propagation. I mostly grow my trees with clip and grow method. Plus some guy wiring. Once in a while I will do a full wiring.
If you enjoy my videos, make sure to like and subscribe. I really appreciate it!
