The Art Collab: I'm currently working on it. I have made 6 designs and still haven't decided which to paint. It's such a big honor, so I want it to be as good as possible 😊 Hope you're hyped for the next artist, I have now confirmed with them! Who do you think it will be? 👀 I have needed to take my time on this, so please be patient ❤️

Really excellent job for a series of "first time" attempts that came out really satisfying. I know there are several things she will probably do differently in the future and she mentions several of them as she goes. I really like how she both acknowledges her mistakes and yet manages to still overcome them with an almost magical charm by the end! Each and every new thing she works on becomes better and better and with so much raw talent and exploration, I can barely wait to see what she comes up with next! One thing I also really like is the clock being shown in the montages to really show the time and effort involved in achieving such wonders... she makes it look so easy that having a reminder like that really shows the patience and dedication to the art.

The White styrofoam is called piepschuim in the netherlands, which basically means squeaky foam
@EmeraldVideosNL
@EmeraldVideosNL 2 года назад
As far as I now styrofoam is not quite the same as piepschuim.

Please don't. I would also love to, no hate here, but here's why: Epoxies in general (specially the transparent ones) should not be considered food-safe (drink-safe in this case, maybe? =D) cause they may contain BPA (bisphenol-alpha, in English I think), which is a residue of the chemical process used to produce them. Not all kinds of epoxy resins are produced this way, but unless you know for sure it is not, don't let anyone ingest food or drink from it. Specially if it has been warmed up, cause the heat frees the BPA even more from the epoxy and it will migrate to the food/drink in question. BPA is harmful to humans and I'm assuming here, for the sake of keeping it safe, it won't do your pet any good either. I'm sorry for not presenting sources for the info, it's nearly 4 AM here, but this is what I learned working with epoxy a few years ago on my phd. Good night o/

Very cool design and construction. Just one thing. If the pump is too loud it may be sign that is not propperly underwater, which would mean the pump may burn because not taking enough water to the upper side (it happened to us before and we had to change it, it just.... broke...). The main solution would be just to fill the fountain with water until the sound dumpens (you may need to add some resin to it in order to get the parts waterproof). Finally, take care of the water, because it usually starts to create kind of slime into it after some days, which can make also the pump to get stuck. Love your work, for real, is amazing!! Can't wait to see the next! Stay safe ^^

That looks amazing! I couldn't help myself but to form a little back story behind this ancient ruin. So allow me to share: Hundreds of years ago a benevolent order of Hydromancers decided to help the people of an impoverished kingdom by giving them what they needed most: Water! In order to do so, the Wizards erected several towers out of the ground with a magic crystal on top of each tower. Said crystal created enough water to support an entire city and the surrounding country side through a system of aqueducts. Since then the kingdom was long lost, and it's cities and aqueducts raised to the ground, buried by time. Yet the towers, created out of magic and thus being impervious to both natural decay and mans weapons of war, still stand, now acting as springs for many a lake and river that turned the once barren lands into fertile meadows and a home to all manner of wildlife...

as a tip for the next epoxy mould, there's two part silicone that you can pour and make a single piece mould of. Stuff is specifically made for casting epoxy and is soft and flexible enough that you can just demould it by prying it open. Should make this process a lot easier than the silicone clay :) Pretty cool build though, anyway :P

here's a really easy way to make uneven, crystalline molds: Hot Glue. all you need is roughly the shape of the "crystal" you wan, and to cut each "face" out with a bit of extra space. if you lay down a few random beads and lines of hot glue on the inner surface of each "face", then put it together like any other mold, hen you remove the resin blank from the inside, a bit of cleanup work is all it takes for a completely unique and organic looking crystal.

Fantastic work. One minor adjustment I would have made: Cut the tube back a little so it's inside the tower and slightly lower than the aqueduct. Seems like you're getting a fair bit of velocity out the end of the aqueduct, rather than the water leisurely dribbling out, and I think it comes from the tube directing the stream out along the aqueduct.

Watching this made me think that Bettina would make a kickass TTRPG DM (or she already is). Using all that creativity to create battlemaps and make character art as well as using it in the world building and storytelling... great job!

If you put something like a comb at the top of your waterfall It should disperse the water to look more like a normal waterfall.

Great job, nicely done, one little think, you could have put a bright led on the inside of the tower to spot through the end of the translucent hose, would have lit up the water nicely and illuminated the whole trough where the water flows.

Awesome. I keep having visions of it as the recirculation/filtration pump in a fish tank, or as part of a turtle tank.

wonderful work as always! also, protip for mold making: you can use oil or vaseline to make sure the two halves of the mold don't stick together! slightly less choke inducing than the talc :)

There is a big architectual oversight in this. The construction resembles something made of stones where the pillars support the arches above. But the last arch is hanging in the air not supported by anything. The stones would just fall down and not hang onto the arch.

I like that you put the Patreon , credits and such in the middle (with montage) of the video .

I'm just looking back all builds with XPS foam as Martina is 100% the reason I've picked that for the build part of my 3D painting. I need a cloud and the XPS just seems the best option

I only got 2 things that could possibly be improved on. 1- the depth of the base. 2- the size of the crystal. For the base, I think making it a bit deeper could improve how the falling water sounds. If not depth, I would alternatively suggest the length of the base, in order to mitigate the chance of water spilling out. The crystal: adding a few millimeters to its height would help with the empty space between it and the "floor" of the tower. I'm no master crafter like yourself so both aspects could of been done for a specific reason (besides costs), and if that is the case, I would love to hear them! Otherwise, this is fantastic and well executed!

The too-big gloves is the heckin story of my LIFE lmao. No gloves ever fit both my palm and fingers. That aside, this is so cool and came out amazing! I LOVE water features like fountains. So much inspiration, thank you!

You guys should take all the Dioramas, towers, mini fountains that have the fantasy aesthetic and find a way to combine them into a Giant Diorama! You can use the model for DnD role play or something like Magic the Gathering and Hearthsone. And if that isn't your thing, just imagine the sheer awesomeness of the Scale of it! It'll be the size of table! That would look so Cool!
