In this video, we will make a Fast n' Easy train Interior! This is the long-awaited part 3 to the train station and exterior videos, so I hope you enjoy :)
no matter what i do the mirror modifier will not replicate it on the other axis :( it makes the cube mirrored but any edit i make using the cutting and insetting doesnt apply to any other axis
Okay, perhaps it might be good to start over again? Maybe something accidentally got toggled when applying the mirror modifier? It should just be: Edge loop the cube and delete all but 1 quarter of it. Add a mirror modifier and make sure the X and Y axis are selected. Then make sure the mirror modifier has clipping enabled.
Hey i have a question, when i do inset, the side is not same. Like the up and down side is more skinnier that the left and right side. Any explanation for that?
Okay the main reason I can think of is that you manipulated the cube scale when not in edit mode. This means that all your edges are going to be a different dimension and thus insets will reflect that. The way to FIX this issue is to select your train, go to the upper left area of the screen and click OBJECT, go down a few items to where it says APPLY and click ALL TRANSFORMS. That should reset everything back to 1,1,1 which means your insets will scale proportionally:)
@@renderedinblender oh wow, it actually work! Lesson of the day, if something is wrong, then you are wrong. I can't believe that a small mistake can leading to a hours of my self trying to figure it up. Than you so much for the answer.
Yeah no problem! I honestly have had an embarrassing amount of times I accidentally did this to myself and then spent hours wondering why my insets weren’t working
Amazing tutorial, however im kinda baffled by how confusing hotkeys are… I think this is the key component that makes the blender learning curve very hard to overcome 😅
