Here is an easy to follow, simple "how to" make the base for a flip flop journal. I hope you find this helpful! My Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/ca/shop/JournalB...
Thank you for making the base for these journals. You have given such clear instructions, that I can understand. One of the best videos by far when it comes to making these journals.
This was, without a doubt, the most comprehensive, easy to understand, tutorial for the Flip Flop Journal I’ve watched; and I have watched many. I had given up on making one. The best part of all, for me, was your showing your completed journal as you explained each section. It made it much easier to follow and understand. You explained it clearly, without saying, “Opps, wait a second, now, how did I do that?”. OMG! The stops and starts that others have had trying to explain it, just made me throw my hands up. I realize that it was not an easy concept to explain, but I’m so grateful that you’ve mastered it. Thank you so very much. I must now get busy! 👏🏽⭐️💜🙇🏽♀️
I’m so glad this was helpful to you! I felt the same way about other “tutorials “, they were just very frustrating to try to follow. I tried to provide as many visual examples as I could to make it easy to follow and happy to hear it made a difference. The great thing is that there are so many different ways to put the envelopes together to create other variations of the journal. Thanks for watching and happy crafting.😀
Thanks very much! I really wanted to make sure it was easy to see where the signatures and the envelope bases were. I appreciate you watching and hope you give one a try!😀
I’m so glad this was helpful! Everything I saw was confusing to say the least and I really wanted to share something easy to follow. It is a fun project once you get the “how to” for the base sorted out! Happy crafting and thanks for watching 😊
Wow!!! This is really keen! I create digital papers, but have wanted to try and actually MAKE the journals that I create for. Thank you so much for taking those of us who haven’t had the courage to just go for it by the hand, and showing how to create a really neat journal. ❤❤❤❤
Beth, This is the best instruction for the flip journal. I found it extremely helpful to see yours side by side. Your journal looks so gorgeous. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks so much Julie! I am happy the “how to “ and the side-by-side were helpful! Once I figured it out I knew I had to share what I did because everything else I came across was just too confusing. Happy crafting and thanks for watching😀
This was so much easier for me to understand. Excellent tutorial. I followed along and made prototypes and added all the notes onto the envelopes. Thank you so much
I have made a flip flop journal in the past, following your tutorial. I decided to make another and have referred back to your video. So helpful, straightforward, easy to follow. Thank-you! 😊 oh and your journal is beautiful ❤
Yes, you made it so easy to see where all the flaps are coming from. Thank you ❤. And all in under 10 minutes. I'm planning to give it a try. Love your journal ❤.
You explained the process so well. It looks pretty simple to do. I love how you decorated your journal. You have inspired me! Thank you. I’m going to subscribe to your channel. 🥰🌻
Thank you so much! This is by far the best explanation/ demonstration of how to put one of these together. I've watched quite a few tutorials and they all looked so complicated! Now that I have seen your version I see that actually it's quite easy. I am off to make one of my own now. I'm so happy to have found your channel. I'll be back 🙂 x
Hi Alison! So happy you found my channel😀. Very glad this was helpful. I agree, while there are a lot of “how to’s” out there, in my experience they are generally very confusing and hard to follow. This is such a fun project with so many options to change up this fairly simple base. Happy crafting and hope to see you back😊💕
Thanks so much Elaine! I used Fabri-tac to glue them together and then printed the backgrounds on 32 pound paper which was added to both sides. This made the base very sturdy. You could definitely add masking tape, washi tape or Tyvec to the spines as well. Thanks for watching!
Hi Beth saw yours on Graphic fairy!! My favorite part of being a subscriber of “ TGF” well the digital collections oh my goodness!! Thank you so very much- So sweet of you to create this video for those like me who have enjoyed these types of “new journals” to me who has truly been so confused by trying to figure the creation of the base - your instructions were so easy to follow I was able to create right along with you ! Then when you added the flip through side by side I was able to label each part of the envelope popped right in to my template folder !! Bless you! Now off to re watch your DT project for RDL !! That was so gorgeous!! As was the one on TGF - Have a wonderful weekend 🦋
I’m so happy this was helpful to you! I have to say everything I saw was confusing to me as well, so once I sorted it out I knew I really needed to share! I think seeing a finished example beside the base is helpful to understand how and where the various components are added to create the final product. Thanks so much for watching and for supporting my work!😊💕
Thanks so much for sharing this video and your flip through was absolutely beautiful. ❤🎉. Yes I made one before watching this video. I learned many more tips of putting the journal together, I will be using this idea next time.
Hi Beth, I’m late to the party, but I wanted to see your version of the flip flop journal. I enjoyed your process, very easy to understand, thank you so much, I have made one …….sorta ! 😊 So I’m gonna start another and hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours, Thanks for the inspiration Hugs. Maggie ❤️🤗🇨🇦❤️
Thank you thank you ❤ so much. I totally get it now. I was mystified until your vid. Watched And watched other tutorials but was too confusing to figure out ❤️🧚♂️❤️🧚♂️❤️🧚♂️
You are very welcome! I agree everything out there I found to be very confusing so once I worked it out I really wanted to share. Glad this was helpful to you and thanks for watching 😊
How easy to follow! Thank you!!!! I have watched so many videos on this and was SO CONFUSED. Thank you for such an easy tutorial on how to glue and fold! Have a fabulous day ❤
@@bethsjournalboutique2637 I made one today - actually started last night after watching your video - so much fun! I will be making more of these! They are so thin and compact and light even with two signatures in it!
Thank you so much this is the first tutorial I think I could follow. Could I ask you how many pages you put in for a signature I’m dying to give this a go x
I’m so glad this was easy to follow! I put 3 and a maximum of 4 pages in each signature. As there are 5 spots to add a signature I wanted to spread out the bulk! You could definitely add more in if you want a really chunky journal! Thanks for watching😀
Oh yes Beth. I could follow along with this very easily. Thank you for explaining so clearly. It really helped going through the journal side by side too.
Thank you SO much for such an awesome easy to understand tutorial on this style of journal! I was just not going to make one…now I will definitely be making one! Again, I’m so grateful! ❤️🥰😊
Aloha from Hawaii🌺🏝New subscriber! Just found your cute easy tutorial, well explained and easy to follow. This is my first tutorial of yours that i found and i will definitely watch more. Thank you for sharing.
Welcome to my channel!! So happy you found me. 😊. Hawaii is one of my favourite places to visit. You are so lucky to live there! Thanks for subbing and watching 😊
Thank you so much for the clear tutorial Beth! I also found other tutorials confusing, gave me major visual-spatial issues 😂 I made a couple that turned out very different because of my folding haha! Excited to try it again! ❤
Finally!! A simple to follow flip flop journal tutorial! I especially appreciated it when you showed a completed one beside the sample!! And......yours is STUNNING! I love it! One last thing....those beautiful tabs! Is there a tutorial on those by any chance? Thank you so much for sharing this! And thanks for the tip on creating the vintage looking tape! ❤ Hugs! Jan
Thanks so much Jan! So happy this was helpful for you. Thanks also for your lovely comment about my work. I appreciate it very much. 😊💗There is a tutorial on the graphics fairy freebie site for the tabs and a free printable for them. The shaped tabs I made myself using a die and then folding it in half and adding a piece of a doily. I don’t have a tutorial on them at this point but could do something in the future. Thanks so much for watching!
@@bethsjournalboutique2637 Oh dear.....anther question. Sorry to bother you. But where did you get the small embroidered rose ribbon that you use on your tabs and for tops of tags. It's so intricate!
@@janetfursdon9494 lol, ask as many questions as you would like😀, it’s no problem at all! I got that trim on Amazon and have it in pink and purple and I believe there is red as well. Search “rose flower sewing lace trim” by Milisten and you should be able to find it.
THANK YOU! This was very simple to understand and I am now excited to make one. I’ve wanted to make one, but found flip throughs of completed too hard to figure out. Now I’d like to see you complete this journal. ❤ SayessDesign.
Thank you for this easy to follow project..I personally find flip flop journals confusing to fold back up and so I haven't gifted any. If I make any I will follow your video! 😊
I’m so glad it was helpful! I agree, everything I saw was very confusing so I wanted to share something easy to follow. I hope you give one a try! Thanks for watching😀
I have been watching so many of these videos and I can say honestly yours is the best. I will toss all those "fails" and start over. Thank You so very much for showing this along with the side by side
Hi Denise! So happy this was helpful! I very much appreciate you watching and for your kind words. It’s a fun way to make a journal and so easy to make variations to the base. Happy crafting 😀
