Good start, that thing is really quite. I have a Jun-Air which is quite good but still not as good as this one.Once you add your air filter it will be more silent. Thats a good idea using the parts from another compressor.
yeah, it's awesome. I can already see how my machine will work when everything is put together. Sweeeeet.. i just hope it will work like I imagined it. the main thing that needs to be perfect is the handpiece that I got made by the guys that did the first handpiece. keeping my fingers crossed. it may take some time before I get my handpiece, that's why I already decided to start on the machine parts. thanks for the comment. I am watching your videos daily. you sure keep yourself busy. keep up the good work. Enjoy Shaun
im very interested in. what you have going on here. as a former ac tech there's oil in it to help keep it lubed and cooled but also the refrigeration helps it to cool from the suction side. these compressors arent made to try and compress air but rather refrigeration thats why its pulled into a vacuum before the freon is put into the system. your fine with your capacitor just dont touch the 2 leads at the same time. to discharge the capacitor use a insulated screw driver and touch the 2 leads with the driver for a few seconds that will discharge any left over power. good luck hope this thing works out for you!
thanks for the info. so you think it will not do great in compressing the air tank? thats not a good info.. you think it will still work? i see people making compressed air from fridge compresor, so i think this rotary might still work, or not?? do you know how to tell if there is enough oil in there, and how to put some in? also what tipe of oil? please reply and help me out here. i really want this to work. Thanks
Nejc Mazej I use 4 refrigerator compressors to fill a 25 gallon tank you could look for it here it's been done..look for how to make a silent air compressor..I did mine 4 years ago..!!
Nejc Mazej hey bud, the type of oil depends on the type of refrigeration used. you can tip it upside down to see if there is any but without a sight glass in the bottom there is no way to tell... not sure if it will work or not lol. that's why im watching you do this because i havent seen it used in this fashion. however with just using air im not sure it really matters what type of oil is used. oil is put in either from a valve towards the bottom of the compressor [Schrader valve] or through the suction side. ill help you out with whatever i can, i would really like to see this working! it is a bit of uncharted territory for me using them in this way.
You are clearly making progress, and what you add to the parts of the effective despite its simplicity, although you are new area but your love is clear, I see from my perspective modest you will be a special person soon, enjoy
The purpose of using this compressor was to make your bigger air compressor less noisy? If yes then you could still use the noisier compressor and still make your engraver work? The piston works without a spring because of the modification? Or is the compressor modified to suck and blow air like the smaller versions? Great build, by the way!
No, the original compressor was 92DB which is freaking loud. To loud in fact. I live in appartment. The new handpiece is like Lindsay airgraver. Different mechanism. Only uses continous compressed air. Thanks for watching
Nejc Mazej thanks for responding. So you could have gone from compressor to handpiece without the extra compressor? You purpose was because of lied noise?
Yes. Directly from compressor to handpiece, of course there is a tank in between just to hold a lot more compressed air. And yes just did it because I wanted silent compressor instead of loud one.
