"Fancy and good enough", right on! When I'm building my cars I always say "Good enough for who its for." If I'm happy with it, its my car, I know I did the work and no one else did what else can you say?
Why do those people from Sask keep thumbs downing your videos? Shesh... you must have beat the guy in extra ends in that cash bonspiel or something. Great work by the way. You make the best of materials that are low cost and available. Nice.
I do believe that of all of the guys doing cars on RU-vid YOUR show is the ONLY ONE wher one person literally does it all! I am truly in awe of the vast the knowledge in your head. Carry on! Russell
This car has so much that sema, winners lack and most ratrods don't have it, a certain rough edge , but flawless lines even the Italian coach builders would love this car.
You sir, are a polymath (that's a compliment) :) Keep up the good work. Do to the COVID fallout (my finances are in shambles...) I'll never have that retirement project car I wanted. But you are allowing me to enjoy your ride. Thank you for sharing the story of this project with so much detail. I appreciate your work.
Hey Brent . Greg here , I found out about the Penny brothers on youtube last Friday . Sure am glad they are there... boy am I ever. With all the no this ...and the no that .... happening you don't see anyone . Now It's May long weekend hope the cruze thing you mentioned last Friday happens for you this weekend ! Whenever this pandemic health issue has resolved itself I need to make a journey or my big brother does , then I get to make a purchase from him that I won't refuse . Yes it is a Hot Rod and I must be patient not a gimmy gimmy gimmy little brother . After all he is my big brother ,it is a Ford and yes it is a Deuce . It was fun watching your new video and the interior is good enough for me . The '38 is a great car what a transformation from then to now !
You are getting better with the sewing machine, you are getting to know how to manipulate your materials to do what you want them to do. That is looking great. It's going to look awesome when you're done.
Coroplast! I've been racking my brain trying to find a good material to use to make my own headliner in a pickup truck. That stuff is a great idea! Thanks!!!
Great job on the headliner, don't you just love that coroplast? Makes great rigid body panels with a little fiberglass mat over them. I have made some kick panels going that way. Again great job!
Hey Brent loving this build, l was thinking when measuring hard to get at places like the roof , maybe if you had a thin bit of wood like a dowel or fibreglass rod and you just push it up into the roof and you you just mark it with a pencil. Love the chocolate brown thing and the interior choices, cheers Tony b. From oz.
That thing is looking nice some of those wrinkles will work out over time just put it out in the sun and let it bake inside well it probably won't get to hot where you're at but if you bring it south where I'm at it will definitely bake lol but man is that thing looking sweet 👍👍
Just need to run those roof panels through the English wheel and tighten up the arc...LOL looking great! Do you follow Jonathan W's channel, doing a straight 8 hot rod pick up build
Nice job on the headliner Brent, did it have the Bows in it before? I like the designs you put in it to. Great looking ride to. Thanks for showing us how to do it...
Not bad. Seen guys use steamers to stretch leather not sure if that’ll work. On mine it has little ribs that sleeve into the head liner to keep it up. Still want to do a custom like you. I’ll be doing my self cause $ lol. Plus don’t have $25g to put into the interior.
Lookin Good! Surprised you didn't attempt a soft headliner with bows. Easier? More difficult? Definitely like the design and color choice! I wonder if heating up the material and really pulling on it before gluing, may tighten it up? You've done a helluva lot better than i could have, that's for certain. Keep up the good work!
Nice work as always, Brent. Where you get that carpet? You're doing a great job keeping all those seams straight, especially after all those stairs, maybe beers help?
The magic carpet ride. You can use that. Looks good 👍👌👍👌. Off too ' oleum the wagon roof gloss blk. Your headliner doesn't look like crap. Looks half ass to me! Heh he. Good day
... Brent the panel upholstery starts out fine as colors transition from front to rear.... But you need to redo that patchwork of little odd shape upholstered panels above & behind the doors into something more unified. . We are used to a higher standard of work from you..
Where ever I used the spay glue it was the 77 stuff. if I could get some kind of industrial stuff I would have but this is all I get get off the shelf.
Hi Brent, I'm curious, I live in the Wheatbelt of western Australia and in summer it does get to 45c+ here and even though I have a white roof on my Toyota Hi-ace Van It gets rather warm inside,I noticed that you Insulated /sound reduced but the floors Apart from cost why not the roof, door's etc with you having a darker colour for Hotter inside in summer and you get snow in winter ( we don't here but I have seen it get down to - 9c this way at 2am) or are you putting in an a/c and heater to improve the climate inside? Tony from Western Australia.
I have used the stuff on my roofs before but with this being upholstered and some padding in it I think I'll be fine, I'm also use to suffering when I drive around in the heat or the cold haha they car will have heat, and I want to put AC in the car yet but haven't' scavenged all the parts along with out swap meet was canceled this spring and that where I was hoping to score an ac unit haha
@@HalfassKustoms I have a 2/90 a/c system in my van, and 2 windows @ 90 kms/h But I did get the front 2 windows tinted and that made a huge difference When the car has been sitting in the sun in summer I have seen it close to 67c inside But I can say that my heater is just about to good for winter it heats the van up to be hot enough that you have to open the window to cool it down a bit. Tony
@@MoondyneJoe that's the best heater to much is better than not enough. Driving my T pickup this winter I had to squint in the cab cause there was so much snow blowing though the cab one day driving in a blizzard haha
@@HalfassKustoms Brent, in 1996 I went to Vancouver bc for 3 months from Sept 20th to Jan 3rd 97 and saw/felt snow for the first time and it was just my luck to experience thier worst snow falls in 75 years. I have bloody hell it was cold - 15c during the day and even colder at night in the car I was in it was pure torture until it got up to temperature with the heater All I could think of was those brilliant sheepskin seat covers (example, :- www.kiwisheepskins.com/sheepskin-car-seat-cover-long-wool-skuCS020?gclid=Cj0KCQjw-_j1BRDkARIsAJcfmTHMixbJra7_8kYzeOXkJxHEYM90bvyR24SKHuixyhqMtH88lJI79YkaAueZEALw_wcB And sheepskin Ugg boots uggbootsaustralia.com.au/products/classic-short?variant=32075830067331¤cy=AUD&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-_j1BRDkARIsAJcfmTGWR0x12hzODr2Q27FQRmifh7ssdNNyXoqZ-jZXAXwLaNyYtl8Lku0aAoXqEALw_wcB We have back home and I was constantly amazed that a country like Canada also America don't have any themselves in the I was thinking seriously about finding someone who I could setup a business with and both parties would make a fortune, Unfortunately I had one big problem.... Just deep pockets and short arms! That sort of thing costs huge dollar's and my budget is lacking. Tony
