Making a HUGE Ethical Underwater Viewing Habitat for TINY Penguins 

You should name four penguins skipper, private, Kowalski, and Rico

I love how you actually make legitimate zoos, whereas most other RU-vidrs just torture the animals.

I'd love to see more trees and foliage introduced as zoo decoration, the flowers are lovely but some variety would make the decor more dynamic and could give the guests extra shade

Fun Fact; Little penguins are also known as fairy penguins! They don't typically have palm trees in their environment as palms are tropical and these guys are around the colder coastlines of Aus. Otherwise I have just found your channel and I'm absolutely in love with your builds

You can have the viewing domes under water! :D But they need to be placed before adding the water so it's a tiny bit finicky.

I love when Paws says that the capybaras are multiplying like crazy cause this is actually true to capybara's nature. They're so easygoing and have zero notion of danger. In fact, they aren't extinct due only to their incredible spawn rate.

adorable! I live in Aus and the fairy penguins here live mostly in burrows and not on rock formations because the predators can get to them outside of burrows, so they’re very nervous. It would be so awesome to add a few extra burrows in the next fairy penguin habitat

You could add a little rocky island in the middle of the penguin pond! I think it would be really cute to see them hop on and off of it!

I've seen these guys before, in the wild and in the zoo! My local zoo houses them, but the only permanent ones are injured ones. There are a few that have lost a fin, so they end up swimming around in circles! The Māori name for them is kororā, and what else is cool is that there are actually two species of little blue penguins, one only in NZ, and the other around Aussie and NZ's Otago. Also, going off the NZ species, the habitat could be more bushy - low lying shrubs and shorter trees make up a lot of NZ shorelines where these little guys burrow. Palm trees are usually around populated areas (and are planted by people) Really cool though, maybe you could name some of the penguins by Māori terms? Aroha (love), Mana (integrity/power), Moana (ocean), Kororā (little blue penguins), and Māia (bravery) would be really awesome names to see! I would recommend searching up the pronunciations if you have time, the r and vowels can be finicky Love the series so far, so excited for future habitats!

There’s quite a bit of foliage on Australian coasts and beaches, the penguins tend to burrow underneath the grasses on the edge of the beach. Usually there’s a stretch of bush land before you get to the beach which has small dunes covered in ground covers, grasses and other plants. Also the rocks on the coasts aren’t really that orange lmao, that’s definitely a more central thing, there tends to be a lot of sand and limestone in their habitat areas. Also, Little Penguins are known colloquially in Australia as Fairy Penguins!

Maybe one of the capybaras could be named Queen Julia in honor of our late friend ❤

I always get so excited for this series! if you're looking for names- one name I've got for a Baird's Tapir is Scotch! (like scotch tape- tape-ir), you could name a penguin Happy Feet and another Pixie! (since they're cute and tiny)

The little blue penguin habitat is looking amazing! I feel like all the kiwi's have subsequently been summoned in the comment section lol (myself included) If you need any names, I have a suggestion: Cheesecake. Maybe even Sir Cheesecake (I feel like Cheesecake is a very noble name for a penguin). I get strong Cheesecake vibes from the little dudes. Their offspring could even be Cheese and Cake. Or vice versa!

The other two swatches of the memorial plaques does read the names and the extra information of the animals, that’s what i usually do to keep track of them! I’m loving the new penguins and can’t wait for the zoo to keep expanding :D

I'm from New Zealand and I got very excited to see the Little Blue Penguins, they're the cutest wee things ever!! Please call one Blue, seems very fitting and it happens to be my nickname too and maybe Aroha (means love in te reo Maori)

I think Tuxie like “tuxedo pixie” would be cute for a tiny penguin. And Tango would be cute for a penguin or a tapir!

Would love to request both an area for remembering those who have passed and especially one to celebrate those who have been released in the wild. I believe the Vancouver aquarium (which qualifies as an ethical zoo, they’ve come a long way in the last few years IMO) has one of those for their otters and seals which have been rehabilitated and released.

I would add the information Center next to a water stall close to the habitat And also the same layout as far away from the entrance 😊 That would get the guests hydrated 💧

This series just keeps on bringing me more and more great vibes. It's so relaxing and wholesome, I freaking love it! Your voice is so nice to listen to, and hearing you coo and awe over the animals always brings a warmth to my heart. If you could, how about naming some little penguins Lavender, Violet, Orchid, Felicia Daisy, Aster, Buttons, Petunia, or Iris? They're such a vibrant blue, I instantly thought about giving them flower names.

Little penguins are also called fairy penguins but don’t get called that as often, a movie “oddball” is all about them and was based in my aria, “Warrnambool” in Victoria Australia, we have a little island, penguin island, just off the coast, like walking distance, where they have been spotted and tracked for years, I’ve seen them myself, they are a threatened species here, the population was going down due to foxes making their way to the islands, so they used LGDs, specifically the “maremmando-abruzzese sheep dog” aka “maremma” dogs, do “take care of” (for lack of better phrase) the foxes and to keep the penguins safe, sometimes you can see the dogs potroling the island, most of the time there is a dog handler on the island too but they have been known to just send the dogs out there, you use to be able to walk to and on the island but that has been shut off for years, I’m 20 and I belive it was closed off before I was born, but my whole life I was told about the dogs and penguins, our town (technically a city but on the smaller end, no skyscrapers or anything 😂) is very big on our penguins and do as much as we can to keep them around and get the population back up,

HI Paws. If you choose a memorial, you can put the name of the animals that die. I always choose the brass one and it has each animal's name on it. They don't have all the info but their name makes it more personal.

In Australia we nickname them 'fairy penguins'. They are located in Phillip Island, Victoria where you are able to watch them come home. The plants are mostly beachy with some wattle. They're guarded by livestock guardian dogs (Maremmas) - watch the movie 'Oddball'!

You can name one of the little penguins, Blue Raspberry. I think that’d be cute. And, also, I seen someone else put a dome underwater, he just had to put the dome down first and then the water. Not sure if it’s accessible or not though. 😊

for penguin names: pingu, and cuddly dudley or just duddley it was a kids book i loved growing up about a penguin so cute everyone wanted to hug them. i think its very fitting for the little penguins. Also love the name ken, keith and glen as they feel very australian.

About the sleeping habits of little penguins, to my knowledge, on some islands they have a special breed of dog to defend them from foxes. They also have man made burrows to keep them safe, so they would much rather use burrows.

Fairy (little) penguins live exclusively in barrows. We have to set up guard stations for them as we sadly have a huge problem with foxes hunting and eating them from their borrows. With plants they live in thick lowline bushes in sandoons without many trees to protect from birds of pray, there isn’t may plants near the water edge and Often use their large group sizes as protection against predators when going out to hunt. I hope this helps. Btw I’m typing this as I watch the vid lol

i haven't watched the next episodes after this one as of this posting, but you can add viewing domes underwater, you just need to add the dome first then the water. it works just fine, i did it for my saltwater crocodile exhibit
