Making a John Deere Bucket Level Indicator 

I like the way you made that rod so you know when the bucket is level and that is the problem I am having with my tractor which have the bucket on it. I wish John Deere had done something about that problem when making the tractors. Thanks for sharing this tip and will probably have to make something like that for my tractor.

JD Toys has video out on "How to tell if your bucket is level?" The top of the bucket is parallel with the bottom on most John Deere loader buckets. If you look at top of the bucket while operating the loader you can see if it is level.

Nice. This gave me a thought. Leave the rod long. Make your bend and then cut the length where you need it to be. Saves buying a die maybe.

Instead of making a bend in the bar, why not just paint it in that spot?

That's only level when the load arms and the bucket are on level ground with the tractor. When you raise the arms, the bucket tilts unlevel, yet your indicator does not move.

I only have experience with my own 300X loader which came with a Bucket Level Indicator. I had thought that the Bucket Level Indicator came on all JD forks as standard. Does JD not offer the Bucket Level Indicator on your model of forks? Or was it an option but not purchased prompting you to improvise one of your own making? Regardless, great job. You've got one now. : )
