This video should have millions of likes, it makes it look so simple, we are all like idiots before the wonderful work of this person using simple tools. MM you really are a genius. Greetings from Chile
After he cut the paper i was like "that's just a basic test, nothing impressive". Then he's like cutting the block of wood like it's butter i was shocked lol.
nicely done, I made a knife out of a railroad spike that turned out really cool, I heated up the hilt and put it in a vise and twisted it for the handle and the remainder I heated and stretched into the blade, so the spike still has the original head on it, heated oil bathed and tempered.
Please Sir, what is a railroad spike? I have a railroad axle from the junkjard, must be a good steel too. It's magnetic due to the turning and turning ...
2900 people are jealous. Really nice job on the video and the knife! I just ran across a huge roller bearing I’m going to attempt to make into a billet of bearing Damascus. I need a much bigger forge and a power hammer......
The A Team may be able to make a rocket launcher from a toilet roll, but even they must tip their cap to the beautiful craftsmanship demonstrated here.
I want that knife. Way cool project. Going to fwd the link to my cousin who is dabbling in this art...hes just a little to big for his britches right now, lol. Thank You for sharing the many skills in the making of this knife and presentation.
FireMelon T7 have you ever been around any machines like a belt sander or drill press or anything else like it. it can grab gloves loose clothes or jewelry and you will have a really bad day in a hurry
Luke Cross seen the bad outcome first hand. Had to take the platen off a grinder so EMTs could transfer to hospital to tell him his hand was history. Ugly day at work. Just watched the video again and must have been an angel on his shoulder
those particular gloves wouldn't be an issue as their design is to withstand heat and provide grip and would rip easily if caught up in a mechanical device, more dangerous without them with the heat transfer, most countries around the world regarding workplace health and safety these days is a mandatory requirement, without them you will receive no compensation for any injury incurred
Nice, now I am keeping all my old bearings for future projects! I liked the video, covered every step of making the knife and without all of the long talking that other videos do.
Skilled Master Made a Masterpiece. Very Nice Skill and planning. But I need a clarification - You used only two rivets to hold the wooden handle with the knife, then why you made many holes and those all hidden under the wooden handle, please explain.
I’m curious as to the oven temperature that you tempered the steel at. Brilliant idea using an outer race. It would have to be one of the best quality carbon steels readily available.
Looks very nice, however, should it not be tempered? You had shown it being quenched but will it not be very brittle? Very martensitic? Know a bit about metallurgy but has been a few years. Very nice looking knife!!
2:16 on your video : why did you put the knife on furnace? At what temprature and for how long? whats the type of lequid ? On 2':29'' in your video , why you put the knife into the oven ?Whats degrees and for how long?
OMG!!! lol... Scalping that paper at the end of the video is awesome! LOL, until then the video was "just a handyman's project" video. Not anymore! That knife is amazing and the process is fabulous. MORE please!!! Keep it up!! New subscriber!
