Materials:
-2x4 Wood
-Scrap steel
-Coat hanger wire
The blade was cut from the scrap steel using an abrasive cut off wheel. The bur was then removed using an angle grinder. A wire wheel was used to scrape the rust off the surface followed up by sand paper. A block of wood was cut at 20 degrees to help guide the grinder angle and the rough edge was formed using the angle grinder.
The handle was made by cutting 3 slices of 2x4 scraps and was glued together. Pin holes were drilled and coat hanger wire was placed to pin off the blade in the handle.
Finally, a whetstone was used to do the sharpening and finishing on the edge. A rough grit was used at 400 and worked up to 8000.
