Tapering and gluing the laminates for a modern" English longbow".
An "English longbow" is a bow that is at least 4 inches taller than the archer and when drawn bends throughout the whole length of the bow. The handle is not rigid so it bends too so the bowyer makes sure the bow is properly balanced, or "tillered" ,then there is no hand shock. That is the same as the historic English longbows made from one piece of yew whose history goes back for centuries.
It is a stave that is then shaped and finely adjusted all by hand - called "tillering" to make sure the bow takes a smooth even curve along its entire length when drawn.
