Making a Lathe Tool Holder Storage Rack. It's a holder for.... tool holders.

I have wanted to tidy up a corner of my home workshop for a little while to free up some more work bench space. Part of the problem was the pile of lathe tool holders which didn't really have a home. The lathe is tucked away in a corner and the tool holders just ended up being stored on the nearest bit of empty bench. So I thought it was time to have a sort out and make a lathe tool holder storage rack. It really is as simple as it sounds. It's a holder for the lathe tool holders. I've also incorporated some storage pockets for the chuck keys and tail stock tools such as the live centre and the drill chuck. The lathe tool holder... holder is mounted on the back of the lathe which makes it very convenient when doing tool changes. It's quick, everything is right there in front of your face, I never have to go looking for things any more. It also means any coolant left on the tools drips back down into the machine. Which all helps to keep the workshop clean and running more efficiently.

The great thing about keeping these parts within reach is it lets you be lathe-y in the future.

Thanks for all of your videos. I really appreciate the practicality of your common sense approach to work shop projects. Its also nice to have a fellow Brits take on things. Your videos have been a great inspiration for my future workshop which is currently on hold. PS looking forward to seeing that Tomac DH feature in a film, shes a rare beauty. Cheers and keep up the great work.

Thank you. I really appreciate all the support. Ahh you have spotted the Tomac have have you. I've toyed with doing a restoration on it for a bit. Simple enough but needs a it of machining doing as one of the pivot pins seized and oversized the hole. I rode that frame for about 12 years, It's been all over the world. Served me well, Iv'e got a 2018 YT Tues now. That thing is a weapon on wheels. Thanks again. 👍👍
