Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I too really liked the protective cap and how you made the knife with more common tools; tools that I actually have in my shop. Thanks again.
@@MakeOn I'm sure they were! When I said "simple design" I'm referring to, well, it's simplicity, using an ordinary (i think it was) drill bit for milling out the slot for the magnet and only enough magnet to do the job. Tricky an time consuming I'm sure, but clean genius design nonetheless. Kudos!
Thank you, David! You're too kind! Honestly though, if I were to make it again, I would leave the corners of the cap sharp, instead of rounding them, to be consistent with the blade shape rather than with the wood handle. At the time I thought that, being it an utilitarian object, rounded would be more comfortable in a pocket and would prevent chipping.
I liked your video it was awesome and i saw where you added the link for template most people dont do that. but when i went to link and wasted my time trying to print it I had different thoughts
Thank you so much Tom! Unfortunately, I didn't keep the pdf of the 1:1 scale blueprint, but I designed the knife in Fusion360 so it won't be hard to export a new one. I will upload it to Gdrive tonight and put the link in the description. 😉 EDIT: Download link added.
I just logged out from Gdrive and tried printing one from the link I put in the video description and it worked just fine, I tried the download button and it gets you the correct pdf file as it's supposed to. I even tried printing it to pdf and I got one on my desktop in no time. If you can be a bit more specific about the problem you're having I will be glad to try and help you.
