HooptieDoodle chops up a perfectly good trailer fender to make a fender for his chopper motorcycle. We narrow the fender and change its radius using simple tools and a welder.

That fender came out really well. I really dug the steam punk look mid-video. Those welds a better than you give yourself credit for.

Isnt there another way of making it conform by applying a long piece of wood (for leverage)and putting it under the side lip,prying it apart a little and then moving the lever a couple inches and repeat again and again all the way to the end.Of course you have to have the fender lying on its side on a table and all clamped down where it counts so it doesnt move.Dont pry it up too far.Youll have to constantly check your work as you go along to make sure you dont pry it apart too far.I saw a guy on Chopcult demonstrate this.Its all by trial and error

Speaking of bondo, could you have just filled those slots with body filler of some sort. Maybe weld every 3rd one and then filled the rest with filler? Looks fantastic with the route you took I’m just wondering if it would have saved you some time. Keep up the awesome work this thing is gonna look gnarly!

In this case my welding was not great and I had undercut from not adding enough metal. So I plan to add bondo or body filler (I think of those as synonymous, though this may not be technically correct?) to fill in the divots and make it look nicer 🤞

@@HooptieDoodle body shop owner here. Bondo is the brand name for a specific body filler. It is the reason that body fillers have such a bad reputation, because Bondo brand body filler is total crap. Their fiberglass resin is surprisingly good, but stay away from Bondo brand body filler!

That may sound like a good time saver, but all the stress a rear fender takes, all of that filler between the welds will litterally crack and fall out.

I find this particularly cat to be very funny. He literally is afraid of nothing, he's overly aggressive to other cats and dogs, and yet excessively friendly with people. It seems he takes pleasure in starting sh*t generally.
