Oh my god. Seeing this is a legit childhood dream came true, nine-year-old me desperately wanted a Rapunzel doll with like...ridonkulously long movie accurate hair. I'm glad to see that not only is it possible but it looks FANTASTIC. My inner tangled-obsessed child is very pleased...now I just need to talk myself out of trying to make one.
This is so casually ambitious and she turned out absolutely fantastic! The color is so much more vibrant than the original too, it reminds me of her look in the Tangled series. I've never done reroots so this being your first time is just [chef's kiss], well done!
You definitely deserve points for 12 and 1/2 feet. Also I like the golden color of her hair. It looks more magical like the movie. ETA: She is gorgeous! You've gotta store her on a high shelf so her hair can hang down!
You did a fantastic doll! Not stupid at all! You put a lot of hard work into this and she turned out amazing! Her hair is perfect! She could be singing, "Flower gleam and glow."
This is great! This could pass as movie accurate. I just hope to see her hair braided like in the movie. The length of that hair in the film just couldn't be braided that short hehe
@@FaeryTaleDolls so true! I think her braid in the movie is just a regular three strand braid with a few thinner braids. It is impossible that all 70ft of it is scrunched up to that length 🤣
Ahhhh that looks great!! So satisfying to see her with alllll that hair. You should be proud for sure! You learned a lot and you saw it through, and got great results. Always fun to come along on dolly adventures with you. : )

I love her😍 She looks so good!!! I was thinking you should braid it (with the cute flowers and stuff like in the movie) so it doesn’t tangle as easily 😭❤️

I came to this video after you recommended it in your doll room tour. This was a video I didn’t know I NEEDED. Jk I knew I needed this video cause I was always upset that Rapunzel dolls never have very very long as a kid 😭 especially movie accurate… which seeing this video now I understand why they don’t make it accurate. But I would still love to see them make her hair longer than they typically do.
I decided to rewatch this video to see if I could pick up any tips for doing a similar reroot. I have been wanting to crochet a Rapunzel doll with the hair being to scale from the movie. I think the length of the doll will end up being about the height of the Disney doll, so I'm probably going to be giving her 13-15 feet of yarn hair. I attempted a doll like it once before, but her hair was only 6 or 7 feet. I'm definitely nervous since that's just a lot to work with, but I'm hoping for the best
To be honest, I didn’t keep perfect tract because at the beginning I didn’t think it was going to take as much as it did...if I had to guess, probably 150-200 little hanks worth, but that was just because of the length. If you made it shorter you could get a lot more bang for your buck 😅
I would start looking at any thrift stores in your area, or flea markets. That's where you can find the best deals, otherwise looking at dolls on secondhand sites is the next best bet! If you only want to do one custom it's just a matter of looking through listings for the cheapest doll that will suit your needs. If you want to do many buying a bulk lot of dolls tends to be cheaper per doll!
am i the only one who wants to know how to make the math??(cuz i might try to make something like it but the doll would be 11cm and 5mm.)Also i've been watching this video like...three times
What I did was take Rapunzel's canonical height and divide it by the height of my doll to find the scale of sorts. I then took her canonical hair length and divided it by the first number I got, and viola! Hope that makes sense lol
