Felix’s character growth: Learning to accept help from a massive surfer-dude squid called Kevin, who gives him insane magical powers and a book of spells Alex’s character growth: Remembering that he wanted to add more detail to his artwork
I quite like sketchbook sessions! listening to your art process and your rambling is honestly pretty enjoyable, and it always strikes me with the urge to pull out my tablet. as an artist, you’ve actually helped me experiment more with my style, and I tend to find myself coming back to your designing videos whenever I’m experiencing a block, and it usually works pretty well. anyways, that’s MY rambling for the day
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve found a necromancer named Felix attractive I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened twice.
He gives off vibes similar to a old man with a long white beard, who smells like fish, wears rain jackets and thick gray sweaters, and has a 1000 year old boat. I love him. Good job.
The actual Tentacle Warlock patron is called "The Fathomless," it was called "The Lurker in the Deep" in Unearthed Arcana, but it was changed to "The Fathomless" when it was officially published in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. "The Great Old One" patron is an official one, but sadly, it doesn't actually have anything to do with tentacles, it's all about Psychic stuff.
Howdy y’all, thanks for stopping by! Hope y’all had a nice time °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° What do y’all think of the new outfit? I don’t tend to show as much close-up detail of the finished pieces in these sketchbook-style videos, so if you wanted to get a better look at it, links to my uploads of the finished artwork can be found up in the description! (^^)/
I love it when people give these all powerful beings normal human names, just like "cower in fear before the all powerful and mighty !!!Kevin!!!" and you just see this adorable lill squid dude lmao.
Idk if you'll eVer read this, but I wanted to let you know that it never fails that your voice and art style inspires me to draw. I put on your videos no matter if I've seen it before and I immediately draw and have knocked out several pages of art pieces and before watching your videos I struggled to make even a doodle. I ADORE your art and sketchbook vids
I haven't been keeping up or engaging with many things I enjoy lately, but this video, your narration and the whole vibe just really helped centre me on an otherwise rough day. Even got some sketching practice in. I love hearing about DnD stuff as well so this was extra special, thank you!! (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ
I totally get doing art for yourself as a break from doing art to other's standards. I have a sketchbook that is for my eyes only, and I only draw in it in private. Even if it's just aimless doodles, knowing that no one else will get to have an opinion about what I drew it makes it so freeing. :D I hope Felix's snazzy new boots are waterproof!
all i can imagine of Felix is when he like defeats an enemy and they bleed or drip slime onto his shoes he just goes "Bloody hell!! Now look what you've done. It'll take me millennia to get these cleaned!! *grumble grumble*" and i'm obsessed. also i rlly want those boots nowww.
Hellooooooo friends! Ah I love sketchbooks sessions, I get to chill a lil and watch a process! Hope you’re all having a good evening! Thanks for the video!
I absolutely get the thing of "making new art discoveries by trying things out for fun" because one of the biggest leaps my style and process have made in the past two months has been from something I figured out while designing some homestuck god tier versions of my OCs which I did to put off studying for finals/occupy my hands during final critique
I get doing your “job” as a way to relax. I work as a seamstress, but I always find myself sewing on my days off. I think I like it because it lets me work on whatever skills I want to instead of just cranking out a product for a customer.
OMG Kevin. I almost died laughing when the pictures showed up I have tears in my eyes, and that fact that his voice is a surfer dude is GREAT. Awesome video!
When I first saw the clear coat compared to his older black coat, I first thought of him wanting to look fancy but also kind of a subconscious choice to blend in and suppress his powers. And then when he got the clear raincoat it could symbolize accepting himself and -for lack of better phrasing- being more open and accepting of his powers and the deity(I’ve forgotten what it was called). I don’t really know how to put it into words but I feel like it could match his mentioned character development.
Oh my gosh we started a new campaign and we have a Tentacle warlock in this campaign! They're really cool but more interested in frogs than the great old ones
Felix looks like a soft cotton candy boy and his dress sense reminds me of old fanart of Cecil from Welcome to Night Vale, which is an excellent combo. Very comforting and sweet.
Yaaayyy, it's our favorite pink bean boi~! Loved watching this fantastic look come together; I'm constantly blown away by how snazzy your senses of style and design are.
How is it that whenever you introduce a male character I immediately have the biggest crush on them? Sth about your art style! It’s just really really amazing and I’m a huge Felix Fan now (on top of that I also think that Posh English is like the hottest accent in the World 🤣🙈😅)
Every time you post a video you fill me with so much creative passion and childlike, giddy joy that I want to squeal and run a marathon. It's my favorite part of any day, and I could seriously watch you draw and listen to you talk for hours and stay happy and excited.
I absolutely love these sketchbook session videos they’re pretty much exactly what I want to see. They’ve of course got the beautiful, creative art, then the chill talking where I don’t have to freak out and rewind if I zone out for a few seconds (as I often do) and much more that I struggle to put into words. Appreciate all your hard work and wonderful content ❤️ Oh, one other thing I particularly love about these videos is that its part of you taking a break and just drawing what you want to and that’s something I love to see and i think it’s very important
These sketchbook session videos are always so relaxing to watch. I also love the look of the rougher liner brushes! It gives the drawing a nice little crunch.
I had to come to the realization that I am in fact 𝙣𝙤𝙩 in love with all of your characters, but I 𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙡𝙮 adore your art style, my brain just loves your line work and the shapes and sizes and colors of your drawings
I love this outfit!! It seems so much more relaxed and free flowing then his more fancier outfit I think this was a great new outfit and hope in campaign others find this great too since Who doesn’t like purple and this cool Jacket!
ABD illustrates: yeah the inking is done, I can shade it now yaay Me: *how can you even like shading??-* (I only like doing sketching and lineart YEET-)
I was drawing while listening and watching this, having someone else drawing with me has always been really nice and lowkey inspiring to me and since all of my friends are kinda busy and all ive been really down so having someone, even if im not contributing, just in the background and ranting was very refreshing ty :D) your drawings turned out great btw, i love your art
My character clothing design started with hoodies but evolved after I started getting into anime, particularly jojos bizarre adventure, also taking inspiration from how videogames often used different cultural styles, looking at how your designs aren’t completely reinventing the wheel yet still providing an excellent design inspires me to utilize designs i had rejected beforehand opting to build a whole new design from the ground up. Thank you, i put your videos on while im working as inspiration
Everytime I see your artstyle I get a sudden zolt of inspiration. You're just such a good artist and watching you're videos makes me imagine what I'd do if I could draw like that, and that kind of inspires me to draw more in order to improve my artstyle. Thanks for that, bro :)
idk why I felt like mentioning this, but in my D&D campaign my character is a bard (cause I love playing bards) and he has total amnesia so he is really fun to play. I love drawing little sketches of him looking completely clueless and confused and pretty much just "not thought head empty" with the word 'W a l r u s' (its an inside joke because my step-mom [who is another player] said Walrus instead of rhinoceros for some reason. also since he's a bard and has amnesia he has to re-learn how to play the instruments he has and he currently plays the recorder, and i'd like to imagine that he just badly plays Hot-Cross Buns at baddies-
My brain’s been so chaotic lately and your videos are honestly so comforting and chill and give me the bits of peace I’ve been really needing. Thank you so much and I’m a big fan of your art and your characters!! They’re really cool and their designs are *chef kiss*
Dude, I totally get the relaxing drawing thing. I was in an animation class and I would spend entire days on my homework, and then as soon as I was done drawing for the project, my mind was like "finally! I get to draw!"
Gosh, your sketchbook sessions are always so relaxing and soothing!! Idk how to describe it, but it’s kinda like the feeling of being under a blanket that isn’t too warm or too cold with a playlist filled with all the songs you can listen to? But yea, it’s very calming and fun to watch, so thank you for making these! :DD❤️
I love watching your sketchbook sessions and hearing you talk about all of your designs! Not only are they really inspiring it’s also wonderful to how excited you are about your art, and process, and characters!!
please keep doing these! It's really relaxing and fun, and kind of helped me a lot to find the will to try and draw and design again. Your break from work ended up being my break from a spiral, so thank you. I haven't enjoyed a channel as much as I enjoy yours, feels like a cosy place to have hot cocoa in, hope you have a good day
I really love your sketchbook sessions, and your voice is so soft and nice that the people I live with stop their music to listen when I'm watching your videos. (You're one of the only youtubers they remember the name because of how chill and great you are.) We love your work, keep going !
this was the perfect break from homework, and now I'm excited to draw even more versions of my alter-ego-ish character (haven't had the pleasure to use them in a D&D campaign yet, but the possibility excites me).
There really is nothing like snuggling underneath the blankets, grabbing a sketchbook, and watching a ABD illustrates video while it rains in the background.
I love listening to your rambles! Real talk, when I'm drawing myself, just listening to a few of your videos essentially on loop is relaxing I especially love concept corners but these sketchbook sessions are also amazing to have
Oh I LOVE this!! One of my main D&D characters is having similar character development (hilariously, it's going to involve becoming a warlock to a sea-creature, although shark rather than your more typical cephalopod) and I've been thinking about maybe giving them a new outfit as well--this video might be the push I needed to actually do it! Anyway, I love Felix, and thank you for this video!
You said the coloring part is the easiest for you! That’s really neat to see what parts of drawing other people prefer, I absolutely hate coloring, but I pump out so many sketches that I don’t know what to do with them
NGL, I'm graduating this year, and art class had been a problem with stress and art block, so I needed the advice of "draw what you want in between drawing with standards" far earlier in the year, but ill probably still use it later in life
AAA I keep coming back to this video i absolutely love the way you draw torsos actually i love the way you draw OVERALL it is so inspiring and with every video you post i always draw along!
AHAHA IM EARLY i really love your content, and you've helped me through a lot of hard stuff. keep going because it's all worth it, I promise you. thank you for being an incredible person. :] also the Felix's rly lookin like Saeran from Mystic Messenger-
This is a really nice vid to sew to! It's nice to sit down and simply relax, especially with how stressful this year has already been for me and a lot of people.
I really enjoy hearing your voiceovers, it's always a nice, fun, chill little time! I also always feel encouraged to draw along too. The way you do the rendering is just so lovely, and inspires me to try new things. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
