It's almost time for #JunkJournalJuly 2024! Junk Journal July is a free month-long challenge hosted by megjournals, in collaboration with ‪@GetMessyArt‬, to inspire you to create in your art journal. Kickstart your creativity, join a supportive community and show up to your junk journal (or try out something new!) You can use the prompts with other types of journaling too.
How to get involved!
🌟 Follow the daily prompt list and create along each day using #JunkJournalJuly2024 - or pick and choose the prompts that take your fancy. There are no rules.
🌟 Each day throughout the month, watch a new video from 30 different creators on RU-vid. They'll create a journal page for that day's prompt.

I completely agree! As soon as people start taking precise measurements and scoring several lines in the paper, I lose interest. I want to play, make pretty things and not be stressed about ruining a piece of paper. There are too many rules in life as it is! Guess I’m a wild child at heart! 😂❤😊❤

Meg - this book needs nothing! Without even embellishing, you have - once again - made a lovely piece of ART! Literally salvaging bits from the BIN! I aspire to create one similar …. The style of my journal again this year is accordion, however, it could not begin to compare otherwise to this little beauty you plan to use! Excited to begin the trek!!!

you have inspired me to make acordian journals now. Ive made a lot of journals from old book covers and sewn spines. but Im trying destash fast Im overwhelmed with life and excessive stuff from my hoarding... Im excited to see my paper totes smaller and have premade books to be ready to just pull out and do the small touches.

Depends on the project for me. I do like my journals to be a uniform size so I will cut my cardboard to the same size then put it together. Other things like tear strips, etc, any size works.

Honestly, it depends whether you wanna do full page spreads, half pages, combined pages, tip ins etc. That’s why no sew is so great because if you are running out it’s easy to add in some more pages without putting any pressure on a spine :)

I don't mind the "messy" or "organic look at all, I'm not big into measuring either. However, I absolutely cannot, will not do "sideways" pages...Perhaps it's the writer and reader in me overriding the artist in me, but things that have a pattern or text HAVE to be upside-right, readable, left to right...odd our quirks, lol. I absolutely love these no-sew books, it's one of my "couch crafts" that I do when I want to do something but have zero creative energy. Then when something like Junk Journal July comes up, I'm ready to play along 🤓

Question…are you guys counting one side of the page as 1 day or both sides?
